Last week, when I read @sytaylor's post on the agentic payments map I couldn't stop thinking about it and wanted to understand who's already building solutions on top of the emerging protocols. I thought it was going to be a quick exploration, but eventually, it turned into a week-long rabbit hole (and you know, doing a deep dive into the market when something new is happening every day is not that easy). I ended up mapping 100+ companies, talking to dozens of entrepreneurs, operators (and, of course, OpenClaw users), just in an attempt to understand how agentic payments work now (spoiler — mostly theoretical) and how they might work in the future. Initially, I had been doing it for myself, but then decided to write an article in case other people might find it valuable. Enjoy the long read (or just give it to your LLM for a short version)! P.S. Thanks to @y_molodtsov and @horiacle1 for reading drafts and making it sharper.

@AdamBartas The problem with Lovable is their main narrative ("everyone can be an entrepreneur and make ton of money just building with Lovable"). It's punchy, mission-driven, but it's not true. After like 40-50 convos with people my main learning was:

First sign that Lovable is dead Pivoting to general assistant is the most "investor-pleasing" move you could do Their app building business is obv going nowhere and investor money is drying up Why should anyone use Lovable instead of the already established ecosystems
Anton Osika – eu/acc@antonosika

Introducing Lovable for more general tasks. Lovable has always been for building apps. Today it also becomes your data scientist, your business analyst, your deck builder, and your marketing assistant. This is a big step toward what Lovable is becoming: a general-purpose co-founder that can do anything. See examples below.

here the moment you realize you're not gonna work right now.. Last time I had the same thought when WiFi in the office was down for a couple of hours (back in 2018)

I admit it... I wouldn't want to build this without code.

@VictorPontis If someone from VC reaches out to you — talk to him/her, if it can be relevant, titles don’t matter. If you reach out to VC, try to reach out to partners, they will connect you to the most relevant person in the team.

VC titles are so confusing. How do I figure out who I should talk to and who is a waste of time?
