@allisonoconn That’s an excellent point! However, not always feasible. There are other non-invasive tests that can help add more suspicion to NE transformation based on Aparicio’s 2013 criteria like low PSA, CEA, LDH, bulky LN, or visceral mets!

Today I learned if someone with prostrate cancer develops liver mets, you need to re-biopsy the liver mets to rule out neuroendocrine or squamous cell transformation, which would change management.

Today I learned that the renal damage caused by platinum based chemotherapy prevents magnesium reabsorption. Patients can have hypomag for up to 6 years even after discontinuation of the drug!
