The resistance against Sony's attack on physical media continues under every Sony/PlayStation post. Love to see it! However, this also hits game announcements. Don't forget to show these hard-working devs some love on other consoles. It's not their fault that Sony hates games.

@DoesItPlay1 That's good. The reason why physical games is better than digital. You can play it whenever you want without internet. Becsuse digital. They will delist it in few year later after released in launch date. Which is why physical games are always important. No Disc. No Buy.

@xMBGx No one buy PS6 until Physical discs are back. That's the only way for Sony need to understand that.

I know we still have time but as it stands right now, I think the PS6 might genuinely be cooked. Between the digital only backlash, it likely being double the price of any previous PS console & the diminishing returns on graphics. Just seems like the perfect storm to me.

Sony’s decision to stop making physical PlayStation games after January 2028 is now being used against the company in a major lawsuit. The lawsuit, seeking $457 million in damages, argues that Sony can no longer claim players have the option to buy physical copies if they don’t like PlayStation Store prices. Once new games are no longer released on disc, the PlayStation Store will become the main place to buy new PlayStation games. Law professor Daniel Wallach told that Sony has “essentially destroyed its own defense,” because the company can no longer point to physical discs as an alternative for consumers.

According to Sony and many publishers, you don’t own your disc, you never did. Their terms can still restrict access or revoke licenses. That’s why we fight for consumer law: physical media was one of the last limits on this control. You will own nothing and be happy.
