Nigel Farage had been arrested and you've been hired as his lawyer. How do you defend your client?

What will it take for political leaders to explicitly call out the Islamophobic and racist nature of the violence we are witnessing across the country?

Some kind locals in Southport that took in the teddies at the cordon last night ahead of the rain - are returning them to the tributes site this morning. Such a wonderful act of kindness.

@BarbaraRich_law It seems that Mr Barrett has a rather different approach to being a lawyer than the rest of us. Not apparently in a good way.

Joining the dots from the irresponsible post made on the evening of Monday 29 July 1. The original post 2. Its amplification by Tommy Robinson 3. and 4. Headline and relevant passage from an article in today’s Times “What caused the riots in Southport”? thetimes.com/uk/crime/artic…

As a “rent-a-quote member of the Chancery Bar” I endorse this message from @levinslaw. It’s irresponsible for Barrett to make this unverifiable claim, passing it on in a way likely to arouse mistrust of the police and to be amplified by people with a political agenda

@BellaWallerstei Lots of parents are hardworking. Not just those who have children at private schools.

Private schools aren't just for the wealthy. My parents made huge sacrifices and took on extra work to send me to a local prep school. Labour’s VAT hike on school fees punishes hardworking parents.
Steven Swinford@Steven_Swinford

BREAKING: Labour has announced that it will introduce 20% VAT on private school fees from 1st January, 2025 The fee will also apply to **pre-payment of fees**, which many private schools have offered parents as a potential way round the tax rises

Just to say that within minutes of Kate Kniveton having lost her seat, she messaged me to ask me to carry on her work on family courts. Not my party, but that my friends, is what a decent representative would do.

@rheumipainmask @vcg239 Not sure who is denying expertise of a consultant . Just different skill sets . MDT s clearly need all of them .

@AliMalsher @vcg239 No argument against MDTs. We all bring a skill set unique to our profession to the MDT But absolutely no need to deny knowledge and expertise of a consultant- it doesn’t lessen knowledge of a CNS/ANP by acknowledging the years of medical education & experience consultants have.

Once again, seems it is controversial to say that nurses shouldn’t replace doctors because doctors have training that is more in depth, longer, and more detailed. I don’t know why this is offensive, but no one has said anything to make me think otherwise 🤷‍♀️

@AliMalsher @vcg239 Yes but when a nurse is working as a specialist/advanced nurse, she is right in saying that the consultant knows more than her. The consultant sees the most complex patients and is there to give clinical advice. Similarly a consultant can’t comment on nursing as not their field
