@StevieMojo1872 i had a vulnerable patient in my sexual health clinic, who needed a GP appt. I took him downstairs where the GP reception is and said he needs an appt, they said they don’t make appts except online and turned him away 🤷‍♀️

Sitting in doctors today waiting for my appointment . And a wee old lady came in musta been about 90 by the way with 2 walking sticks . She’s at reception and asks for a doctors appointment then to be told she will have to go home and call on Monday cause they don’t take appointments at reception!!! What an absolute joke by the way 😡 the system is beyond mental . It would take them literally 2 seconds to add her to the list 😡😡that’s the Scottish government for ye though 😡

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think anyone is shedding tears for Ian Huntley but let’s not turn his attacker into a hero given he’s serving life for triple murder including a pregnant woman who showed him her scan picture hours before he killed her.

@valhumphreys51 @ro_munn when i had a breast lump i think i waited about 2 weeks to see an ANP, who referred me under a 2ww. Lump found in the Oct, first surgery wasn’t until the end of Jan. Everything is just so sssslowwwww

At present: if I had severe chest pains, I’d go to A&E if I had a sore throat for a few weeks, I’d make an appmt online with my GP (not urgent) if I found a breast lump, I’d phone my GP and ask for an appmt within 24-48 hrs (urgent) So, what have I missed? What has changed?

@dru_jlh indeed. And having had two children go through the school system, I would suggest those in glass houses etc.

A pediatrician colleague in her 40’s passed away after a short illness. After 15 yrs working at this job: - No email announcement sent from the hospital. - No call made to her family. - No memorial or grief support for the department. - Her job posted for hiring the next week.

@medicalmodelbri @DailyMail if a paramedic had been responding to this patient as a 999 call, would they have said oh it’s ok no hospital needed? In which case they shouldn’t be working *anywhere* let alone as a GP substitute

From the local newspaper not @DailyMail This is a direct consequence of GP replacement with paramedics. The paramedic diagnosed a fractured hip. Why didn’t they call 999 immediately ? This is an emergency. Why did they accept that 10 days would be ok for her to wait ?
