On JB Charleston this morning as 36 airmen receive the Distinguished Flying Cross for the Aug. 2021 evacuation in Afghanistan.

More airmen, stationed at JB Charleston during evac but have since transferred, were able to make it to today’s ceremony. Per PAOs final count was 51 making it the largest group awarded the DFC in decades. Many 1sts: 1st Black woman received the cross; 1x award to nonflight crew

The Distinguished Flying Cross is the highest award for aerial flight. 36 will be awarded today. The evacuation was one of the largest in US history.

I managed to make it all day w/o spoiling the USMNT v Wales score line! Finally watched the game…first time I’ve enjoyed mens soccer in a while. Still the silly grabbing, diving+rolling around. But still a damn good game!! Both teams laid it all out there
