"People are burning in front of us." Palestinians were seen burning alive after Israeli forces attacked tents within the grounds of the Al Aqsa hospital in Gaza's Deir al-Balah region. The tents were housing displaced Palestinians who had nowhere else to go. Journalist Saleh al Jafarawi recorded the scenes as it happened, explaining that they had nothing to extinguish the flames. At least 3 people were killed and 40 injured according to early reports from local media.

🧵I’ve read through the evidence section—the first 85 pages—of Jack Smith filing on Trump’s private criminal efforts to stay in power despite knowing that he’d lost the election. The evidence is stunning. It’s clear why Trump did not want the public to see this testimony. 13 things jumped out to me on Trump’s attempt to defraud the American people and steal the 2020 election.

I always like these messages after writing about the two-child benefit limit, as if I’ve personally got 23 children I’m secretly trying to make the taxpayer feed. My personal “lifestyle choice” is: if you see children going hungry because of a policy, campaign to end the policy.

It's 13 years since the abuse at Winterbourne View was uncovered by BBC Panorama. But there are still over 2,000 people with a learning disability and/or autism stuck in mental health hospitals at an increased risk of abuse. This is unacceptable - we need action now.
