🤔Could it be? Reform quietly shelving a vote-winning policy the moment former Tory Robert Jenrick becomes Treasurer? The party that cosplays as “for the people” is bankrolled by & takes their orders from the same kind of profiteers who’ve run our water system into the ground.

Tonight on BBC Newsnight - these women share the horror of the sexual abuse Jeffrey Epstein subjected them to and the truly damaging effect it's had on every aspect of their lives Jena Lisa Jones, Wendy Pesante, Joanna Harrison, Chauntae Davies and Lisa Phillips were groomed by the paedophile who they describe as a 'master manipulator' Some were as young as 14 years of age when he initially assaulted them. Some were raped on his private island or at his ranch in New Mexico. One woman who wishes to remain anonymous ('Nikki') told me he drugged her and she believes raped her while she was unconscious for 12 hours All were either vulnerable girls and/or young women with dreams he claimed he could help them realise. We brought them together for a BBC Newsnight special which you can watch tonight on BBC 2 at 1030 We brought them together for a BBC Newsnight special which you can watch tonight on BBC 2 at 1030 They also gave me their reaction to zero arrests of anyone in the US despite the masses of new information released in the Epstein files; whether US authorities shld now be helping UK police forces in their enquiries into the ex-Prince and Lord Mandelson; and they all have very poignant and powerful messages for survivors of sexual abuse around the world Please do watch if you can 1030pm BBC 2 & BBC News (& later on iplayer)

Downing Street is refusing to say whether Morgan McSweeney’s WhatsApp exchanges with Peter Mandelson were lost when his phone was stolen (after Mandelson was sacked as US ambassador because of revelations about his Epstein friendship). But surely the rule in government for any official as senior as McSweeney - then chief of staff - should be that their messages are backed up to the cloud, when those messages are about government business. If there was no backup - and if there is no government rule insisting on backups - that would be extraordinary. Also McSweeney had an iPhone - according to the transcript of his Met police conversation - so the default position is that messages would be backed up to the cloud. So if the Mandelson messages are not there, he would have disabled this facility

Keir Starmer can't, Kemi Badenoch won't and Nigel Farage refuses to. Only Ed Davey is calling out Trump's corrupt regime and standing up for the British people.

The Grown Ups are back in the room… good work @EdwardJDavey and @LibDems for picking up on the things you differ on, recognise when you do agree and respectfully focus on issues that are real not just raised to be divisive. How I wish we saw more of this…

Highly suspicious… Is Trump using his illegal war to enrich himself and his friends? This looks like corruption of the very worst kind.

A bit late to the farce of @ECB_cricket marking its own homework over the Ashes debacle. After a similar set of results & performances in '22, Ashley Giles, Chris Silverwood & Graham Thorpe were sacked & Joe Root resigned 2 months later. This now looks just a cosy club.

He also reported it to his Downing Street office so it could be tracked - presumably triggering security protocols when he did so.

McSweeney did, however, tell the call handler that it was a *government* phone, which you might think would have piqued the Met police’s interest…

NEW: Morgan McSweeney did *not* tell the police that he was the prime minister's chief of staff when he called 999 to report its theft. Met Police: "It has been assumed by many that the Met would have known details of the victim’s employment or the particular security risks associated with his device or material on it. This was not information provided to us and could not reasonably have shaped our decision making."

BLIMEY - there will doubtless and rightly be a lot of focus on the limit on overseas donations and the ban on crypto (tick to both) but in some ways might this be the most important paragraph in the Rycroft report on foreign interference in our politics (prompted in part by Russian funding of Farage Party) “Separately, beyond these hostile state threats, I am also cognisant of a potential new threat: an emerging willingness of foreign actors and private citizens, including from allies like the United States, to interfere in, and influence, politics abroad in pursuit of their own agenda.” In other words USA has joined Russia, China, Iran in seeking to subvert our democracy. Time to call them out !!! Perhaps JD Vance could pop in for a chat after his campaign stop in Hungary
