Condolences to #EPS this morning on the loss of 2 officers. A terrible loss for the whole city.
English

@AlisonKabaroff Hahaha thank you 😅 I have residual trauma from an event where we had to bag a tubed patient for 30 hours and ran out of narcs to the point we were using ativan/morphine/ketamine to keep ‘em down, so now my brain is always in a chronic ‘worst case Ontario’ mindset 🥲😂
English

@jesssicrap Intermittent pre-excitation is a better prognosis. And SCD in WPW is thankfully rare.

@AlisonKabaroff I’m shook reading the recent cards report; they somehow didn’t have access to the previous ecgs, or records of the ablation a couple years ago done at the Maz and don’t seem particularly concerned, meanwhile I’m all: please don’t drop ded we’re closer to the North Pole than an ER
English

@jesssicrap Also, some people will have a classic WPW pattern on their ECG but never actually go into a tachydysrhythmia. WPW pattern vs WPW syndrome.
English

@jesssicrap Yes. You can have temporary accessory pathway activation. Sometimes the ECG will show a WPW pattern and sometimes it won't.

Not to worry. If we did shoot down a Canadian balloon they'll apologize to us.

What are the odds we just shot down a Canadian Weather Balloon?
English

@AineYoreMD Nope. There is no commercially available avian flu vaccine for humans currently.

@transplnt_mdphd @FrancoisModave A load of 💩that you can conveniently charge a lot of money for...
English

Lol. Literally an Olympic athlete here. Fuck yes I’ll take all the vaccines. Because I’m not an idiot.

I also think people who have been competitive/pro/semi-pro athletes intuitively know you don't put pharma products in your body unless necessary. I still run around 90 miles a week, sleep & eat well and know I am very low risk. Risk doesn't just have to do with age.
English

@DanBradnam @_JaceMullen Nope. We put the line in the internal jugular not the external.
Is the patient alive? Great, I can move the line later.
English

@_JaceMullen I wonder if they could still feed a guide wire through the cathalon and just continue with the line from there?
English

@TrevorJain Mandatory overtime is a patient safety hazard.

Once you start threatening staff or practicing the art of triage when not licensed or qualified to do so you lost the credibility to “lead”.

@aaronjohnston @PfParks A recent example is a patient with sepsis. Seen in the WR. Source was PID - diagnosis was delayed due to lack of space for a proper exam.
English

AHS: “No matter where a patient is seen at the hospital site, they will always receive the appropriate treatment.”
This simply is NOT true. Our nursing to pt levels are often NOT at appropriate levels.
Our teams do their best in untenable situations…
