@NuffieldHealth Not sure I can unless you’ve followed me . My understanding is that the programme was designed in October … seems general rehab based with some covid additions … I think more is known about PEM , dysautonomia, GET in relation to long covid

Today my journey with #LongCovid advances.Have been accepted to participate in the @NuffieldHealth Rehab prog. Wasn’t well enough in March when I applied. It’s progress but I’m still fearful of the relapses. @ScotGovFM @HumzaYousaf can more be done? #LongCovidWork #CountLongCovid

@HaulerLong There’s a study currently at university of Alabama for this exact thing … neuroplasticity exists - it’s used in stroke rehab - this makes sense for those with long covid and cognitive issues . However the study is the first in world and hasn’t finished .

#longcovid Facebook-groups full of people excited about paying $300 for some bullshit ”rewire neuro plasticity” meditation programmes. They need to get rewired alright…

Told my PE I’d like to see FEES and ended up getting to volunteer for first-hand patient experience as part of B8 FEES training! I present to you my larynx in all its glory 😂 Apparently I have a small nasal cavity, bumpy tongue, and prompt swallow! 😳

Considering U.K. prides itself on LC clinics etc … we are so far behind in terms of rehab that is successful . I think all baselines here include sit to stand /6 min test 🤯

For our stroke pts with cognitive and language problems SLT and OT have developed a risk ax. This identity’s SMART goals that support discharge and have reduced failed community discharges. #slt #ot #stroke #riskax #cogcomm #discharge Do you use anything similar?!

@AlisonbainSLT @ontapphysio2 Definitely, I know I've been lucky financially, still doesn't alter the fact that it was lack of duty of care towards staff that has them in this mess in the first place and us too ill to work

@MaryGR65 @ontapphysio2 Yeah I think it’s same everywhere… Drs gone . There are LC HR and Occ Health teams being set up . In s as way it’s worse for other LC people not in NHS - no covid leave etc

Ive also pulled them up bc Gp wanted to know why I didnt have a occupational health drs assessment, although Ive spoke to nurse every 6 weeks but our trust doesnt have a Occy health Dr, they left and havent been replaced

@MaryGR65 @ontapphysio2 They’re not under a duty now if you’ve put in notice . I am sorry Mary it’s not a nice feeling - they may also be relieved no mention of ‘industrial injury’ comp etc etc . That’ll start happening I’m sure of it

@AlisonbainSLT @ontapphysio2 After I told them they said well once you've written your letter we won't need to do another review. Thanks for nothing!!! So asking me every month if there was anything the trust could do to help me was just lip service now I can just bugger off cos I'm no use to them anymore

@MaryGR65 @ontapphysio2 It’s the covid policies apparently… more support than usual sick leave …. I’ve been off since early April 20 too

@AlisonbainSLT @ontapphysio2 Lots of my friends left at 55, I had a gap in nhs service so couldn't afford to. I've been off since March 2020 after what can only be work acquired covid and they make me virtually attend a sickness review every month.

@MaryGR65 @ontapphysio2 Well done Mary … nurses can go at 55. Shame they didn’t think to Thankyou for working longer than ‘needed’ to / years of contributing to NHS etc . Rubbish way to end career . Suspect you’ll not be only one to leave with LC

@ontapphysio2 I've just told work in my sickness review that I got my paperwork through for my old age pension (66) in November so would be asking for my nhs pension and calling it a day 😢 first thing HR manager said was well you look so good I'm shocked you'll be 66 🙄 as if they didn't know
