How is it that the LLMs get things wrong constantly, the very simplest things, and make stuff up pretty much nonstop, yet they are said to be hurtling unstoppably toward god-like power -- if they haven't secretly achieved it already? Is this a con job?

@IkenoYuki 31/32inch, to 1inch, to 1 and 1/32 inchs. Americans are precision, precise exact accurate to the 1/64inch when needed. For Americans, a inch is a EXACT unit, Standard American English.

アメリカ人に『これを1インチ(=2.5cm)ずつに切って』とお願いすると、1.5cmから4cmくらいのバラバラの大きさの短冊が仕上がる。ふと気づいた。アメリカ人にとってインチとは単位ではなく概念に近く、1インチとは「ハーフインチでもなく2インチでもない長さ」と理解することで納得できた。センチ使え

@Wind_Drawn @FireGoku_ The story is coherent and the only people that don't seem to understand that is people that have not watched the show because because SPOILERS, Eve fafter literally guilt trips Eve to resist any person gain use.

@AllThingsIng @FireGoku_ I agree but this makes it to where audiences should just turn their brains off. A story should still be coherent. Eve worrying about a home when she literally and created a home for herself for a whole season doesn’t make sense. I think a different character would make sense.

@supertrucker Don't think that, once the boomers are gone, Gen X and Millennials won't do the same thing. They will use the legal and economic frameworks established by the boomers to abuse Zoomers, Alpha and subsequent generations.

@AllThingsIng @OneArmedBoh that doesn't mean anything. They were iron age culture because they had iron nearby. But culturally and logistically they were caveman, roman integration was what made them build cities and adopt complex administration

@stephenehorn In English Yankee is a term of contempt (1750s) before its use as a general term for "native of New England" (1765); during the American Revolution Yankee became a disparaging British word for all American natives or inhabitants. The Confederate cult copies the British cult.

@9mmScorpion @Percgremli6261 The Egyptian slave empire is well documented cutting the penis of slaves. Half the Old testament is real stuff wrapped by god worship. For example: Herodotus and the Old testament both speak of the real men Cyrus, Darius, and Xerxes.

@E_TX_Tree_Frog @genocidalgirl The Jesus cult claiming all humans are equal is the problem. Humans is a vague group of Great Apes that can interbreed with any human civilization 50,000 years ago to 8,000 years ago is underwater. From the floods to Jesus was only 6,000 years.

@ShamashAran English has a consistent sound system logic. 44 sound system that remakes other people useful words into English sounds. English is like the Borg from Star Trek and the Island is cube that ASSIMILATES anything useful from everyone else.

Other languages: "We built a consistent system." English: "I assembled this from spare parts I found, and probably stole."
Sensurround (センサラウンド)@ShamashAran

Not EXACTLY what you'r eon about, about grammar and conjugation, but: The English language is like a Kaito, a thief that takes whatever isn't nailed down. You don't understand the goofiness of just how bad it is until you understand languages we steal from, most commonly: French German Spanish Latin (old) English and even Japanese. English isn't as structured as Japanese is regarding loanwords. Many times, we don't even know how the loanword was originally pronounced properly, so we just... fake it. And we don't even do it in any way that makes sense. My favorite example is animal words vs food words: Peasants (Old English speakers): Raised the animals Lived with them daily Used native words: cow pig sheep Nobles (French speakers): Didn’t raise animals Ate them at the table Used French-derived words: beef (from boeuf) pork (from porc) mutton (from mouton) Even our loanwords, we end up totally ruining the pronunciation. Ruining pronunciation is an American pastime. Look at American towns: the state of Nevada (pronounced Nah-VAH-duh) Nevada, Texas (pronounced (Nuh-VAY-duh) Lancaster, PA (pronounced LANG-kiss-tur) Lancaster, CA (pronounced LAN-kass-tur) Even more when we steal placenames from other languages: Los Angeles: > Spanish-ish → “Los AHN-heh-les” > English → Loss AN-juh-liss San Pedro > Spanish → “San PEH-dro” > California → San PEE-dro Amarillo > Spanish → “ah-ma-REE-yo” > Texas → am-uh-RILL-oh Colorado > Spanish → “co-lo-RAH-do” > U.S. → col-uh-RAD-oh

@AgingAnarchist The difference between a rock and stone is that a rock is the ones that break. You have 2 different rocks, bash em together till the rocks breaks. Stones are harder than rocks. Rock is the one that cracks.
