Parliament has learnt that at the current rate of UGX200 Billion that is set aside to clear Uganda’s domestic arrears, it will take Government over 48 years to clear the outstanding arrears that are currently valued at UGX8.4 Trillion, although the Ministry of Finance has revealed that after verification, some of the reported arrears had no evidence to support payment. This was disclosed in a meeting held between Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the Ministry of Finance, to consider the December 2025, Auditor General’s report showed that Uganda’s domestic arrears were to a tune of UGX8.4 Trillion. 📸@Parliament_Ug

Nicholas Tumuheki, a nursing assistant at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, has been arrested over alleged negligence and ordering patients to buy drugs and other necessities from a nearby private pharmacy, despite the items being available at the hospital.
