I’d prefer people wait until they can financially support themselves before worrying about amenities and “fun”. If you truly fall on hard times temporary help should be available. Entitlements are NOT a solution to the problem, but something prolonging the need to keep stealing tax payers money. I don’t hate poor people, I was one. However, my mother felt such shame in begging the government for help that she worked 3 jobs to support my family. She made it work then and will never have to work hard again because her kids will always be there if she needs it. That’s how it should be done, not welfare queens and illegals stealing our taxes that could go to much more important things.

Doesn’t really matter in the long run. I wish the ebt users were focused more on getting jobs to lower their risk of poverty instead of worrying about the aquarium at the expense of responsible citizens. Unfortunately there is no reward structure for doing the right thing and the better you do, the more you’re expected to bail out.

@ikasimir @ZachRemsberg @esjesjesj I’d need to see the demographics of their customers regarding entry. If we are talking a decent chunk of entry fees being waived by their entry, that would mean they can decrease the normal citizens entry fees and/or lower gift shop and other amenities.

@AllegedlyKen @ZachRemsberg @esjesjesj I mean, probably not by any meaningful amount, no. I highly doubt letting EBT recipients in for free represents any real increase in their costs, and it might even be a net positive, they still have a gift shop and food and shit.

@ZachRemsberg @esjesjesj Nothing is ever for free. If a certain class of people are receiving a service for free, those that have to pay are likely experiencing higher rates for the same service.
