Small government leads to most prosperity for most. ER physician. Government and media misrepresented Covid data from the beginning to make Trump look unserious

@Buccigross You don't want to blow it up and miss the playoffs like Toronto though. Sometimes you just lose 4 of 7

Fourth 1st round exit in a row for Tampa Bay. I would think they are pondering significant changes to try to get younger and better. Kucherov has 2 goals in those 23 games. Weird.

If Platner was actually a Nazi, the GOP is right there, he could have easily run as a Republican and they’d happily accept him. The idea that he chose to run as a progressive democrat, so that he could get in there and start acting on some secretly held Nazi ideology is not plausible to me. Idk what to believe about the tattoo, but I do believe that he regrets it and that the values he espouses now show that regret to be genuine. Is Platner my preferred genre of candidate? Absolutely not. Does it piss me off that white men are offered significantly more grace than women and POC candidates would ever be? Absolutely yes. But the fact remains that Maine Democrats chose him to represent their interests in Washington and that means the party should support him.
Neil Stone@DrNeilStone

Question How would the Democrats respond if the GOP fielded a candidate with a literal Nazi tattoo?

You haven’t seen my byline much in @realdailywire lately. Here’s why: I’ve spent the last 2 months working on what might be the biggest fraud, waste & abuse find of my 20-year career. I’m back from Ohio & TOMORROW AM we publish Part 1 of a major series. Get ready to get angry.

Alright so who do we want tonight, Montreal or Tampa Bay? The #Sabres are 2-2 against the Canadiens this season, 3-0-1 against the Lightning. I think Buffalo matches up slightly better with Tampa, plus Montreal’s arena is one of the toughest arenas to play in, so I’m going to lean towards Tampa. Either way, I hope this game goes into double or triple OT and these teams just wear each other out all night! #LetsGoBuffalo

@onsoulie I dislike the Habs more than TB but bettors say MTL would be a significantly weaker opponent for Buffalo than TB. So I have to root for Montreal tonight even if I don't want to. All I really care about is Buffalo winning

How we feeling Sabres fans Personally want Tampa Bay because we know we can roll them, and I’d love to say we took down a murderers row of goaltenders. Plus Habs fans would raid the shit out of our building like there’s no tomorrow

I remember when I first became a professor, I was excited to see what actually took place in a faculty meeting. About 10 minutes into the first one I attended, I realized it was all bullshit - people bloviating about irrelevant things, talking over each other, and saying things just to sound smart. In later years it became completely performative. The nastiest people behind closed doors would go on about how much they love students and minorities. It was pure narcissism - people trying to look good in front of others and caring more about promoting themselves than anything else.

Yep. Comical if people could see it at faculty meetings, with their own eyes.

@shellenberger @RyanHoliday I'm new to the philosophy of stoicism but judging from "The Daily Stoic" it is a philosophy of passionate emotional displays and reasoning. Do I have that correct?

@RyanHoliday Your entire video contradicts core precepts of Stoicism. Do you really not see that? x.com/shellenberger/…
Michael Shellenberger@shellenberger

Stoicism values humility, emotional control, and loyalty to family. And yet America's leading popularizer of it, @RyanHoliday, displays none of those qualities in his angry, TDS-fueled condemnation of @IvankaTrump. He displays an arrogance every wisdom tradition warns against.

Lol. Rolling your eyes at the performative philosophy of a member of the most corrupt family in American history is apparently 'fuming'? Although if there was anything to be mad about these days, I think objecting to people lighting the world on fire so they can make a killing in prediction markets and kickbacks is probably it. yahoo.com/entertainment/…

@PerBylund The CEBM at Oxford and John Ioannidis at Stanford told us, correctly, in early 2020 the virus has an infection fatality rate around 0.2%. Much media gaslighting, dishonesty, and hysteria followed. In my opinion because Trump went on record saying the virus had a low IFR

This really is a disgusting episode in our recent history. None of the things we were told made sense. And the claims were not even consistent. Yet so many not only toed the line but took it on themselves to impose it on their peers.

COVID was the greatest propaganda campaign in history to make people believe there was a pandemic so virulent, with hospitals so overwhelmed they needed dancing nurses and doctors to convince people. The worst part… it worked.
