Whose "worldview" are you referencing? Jacob is addressing this question to "non LDS folk," presumably who believe in the Garden of Eden narrative. This is a large data set consisting of a wide array of beliefs and conceptions of God, not one monolithic worldview. To get an idea of where you are coming from, please explain your worldview. Are you Christian? Do you believe in creation ex-nihilo? Do you believe God knew at the moment of creation the precise future actions of each of his "creatures?" Thank you for considering these questions and engaging in dialogue. It helps me workout my own beliefs as we do.

I’m not claiming Jacob’s questioning God. It’s actually worse. I’m saying that Jacob is trying to replace God with his own intellect (and that the majority of LDS do as well). Plus, he’s mixing paradigms, framing his question from outside the worldview he’s critiquing: A person that believes God is omnipotent and omniscient can also trust He is in charge because there is no second option like a self-existent reality external to god like in LDS. Asking why makes no sense within the worldview. Why? Because God is God… all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving.

Question for non LDS folks. Why would God put a poison tree in the middle of his perfect garden knowing that Adam and Eve would partake? The only way out of this is to say God intended it for some higher purpose. Which implies his initial creation was not perfect but could be improved upon.

@Allen_Newberry @ThoughtfulSaint That's a terrible strawman and neither have I ever heard anyone mouth such words before, let alone a preacher. God loves little children enough to tell them the truth, though. Not lie to them like LDS members.

It’s much more concerning to think you can understand the intentions of God; that you can plan better than God; that you can understand omnipotence and timelessness better than God; that you can use your rational mind to be a better god than God. The same LDS take as always: if I were what I believe God to be, I would have done it better than He did. You ultimately make God in your own image. In a worldview that assumes God is all powerful and all knowing, you can also assume God did everything as he intended, with full knowledge of what he was doing; and he chose to do His will, not Jacob Hansen’s.

I oftentimes wonder if you're truly being sincere when asking a question, but I'll bite. At no point could I ever question what the Lord has done, so asking why would God is a terrible start point to any reasoning, as far as I'm concerned. I don't believe "why would God" (insert anything) can be answered successfully by limited human understanding. As far as the heavens are from the earth, His thoughts are from ours. That is not to say someone on earth couldn't give a well thought out response, but in eternity we more than likely will be proven wrong on many things we have believed to be true on earth. Why? Much like animals do not have cognitive thinking skills, our minds do not have the full capacity to understand the Lord's mind right now, but one day all things will be revealed. It's all about perspective. A small child doesn't understand his father's instructions, but it would behoove him to obey regardless. Until that glorious day of revelation, it's certainly okay to trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto your own (or any man's) understanding. Hope this helps.

That would certainly bring prices down, but the point she is making is still valid. The millennials and gen z-aged young people are massively struggling to purchase homes due to ever-increasing prices. She is simply saying that decreasing property taxes would lower monthly payments and allow more of them to buy a home.

@Allen_Newberry @natbrunell In other words, property values are going up regardless of the property tax rate. The only solution is to promote building & increasing supply

I'd like to see property taxes lowered. The inflation of home prices far beyond a property's utility makes the market out of reach for so many people, including younger generations. Property taxes are tied to these inflated home values (driven by monetary expansion rather than real market worth), effectively turning homeowners into perpetual tenants of the government. And with sky-high mortgage rates how can anyone afford the American Dream right now?

@mithcoons @natbrunell That's not what she is saying. What she is saying is correct ... Property taxes increase as property values increase because most are calculated as a percentage of the property valuation... which is ever increasing.

Yes, I agree. A person who owns one bitcoin could have four addresses with .25 btc each. He's a whole coiner, but doesn't show up in this data. In fact, I would say this accounts for a significant number of wallets because it is considered best practice to not always use the same address when stacking.

Right, but really these numbers are not fully useful. How about all those who have one wallet with multiple addresses assigned to that wallet? For example a person who owns one bitcoin could have four addresses with .25 btc each. He's a whole coiner, but doesn't show up in this data. In fact, I would say this accounts for a significant number of wallets because it is considered best practice to not always use the same address when stacking.

As of the latest data available: - **Number of People Owning 1 or More Bitcoin**: Estimates vary, but one source from March 2023 suggests there are approximately 827,000 addresses holding 1 bitcoin or more. However, since one person can own multiple addresses, the actual number of individuals could be lower. Another estimate from 2024 indicates around 1 million wallet addresses hold at least 1 BTC, but this again does not directly correlate to individual owners due to the possibility of multiple wallets per person or entity. - **Percentage of People Around the World Owning 1 or More Bitcoin**: Determining this percentage is complex due to the anonymity and potential multiplicity of wallet ownership. However, if we consider the global population in 2024, which is roughly around 8 billion, and take the higher estimate of wallet addresses (1 million), this would roughly translate to about 0.0125% of the world's population owning 1 or more bitcoin. Posts on X have suggested even lower percentages, around 0.27% or 1.3% of the global population holding bitcoin, though these percentages likely include any amount of bitcoin ownership, not strictly 1 or more. These figures are based on various sources and should be seen as estimates rather than precise counts due to the nature of how bitcoin is tracked on the blockchain.

@BYUSportsNation Better play from Hall & Catchings Start Traore & Knell Use Hall as Demin's sub. I am beginning to wonder if Hall is bringing down Demin's game when they are both on the court. Starters: Demin, Knell, Saunders, Catchings, Traore

You could spend all day on this app correcting CBA misinformation, but this specific take is worth rebutting. Deferrals are NOT a loophole. They’re not new. There’s nothing to “find”: the CBA could not be more explicit about permitting deferrals.
Angels in the Diamond Club@LTBU_2002

They found a loophole and are just collecting every player because of said loophole. It’s legitimately horrible for the game of baseball, idc that it’s the dodgers, if this was the angels doing it I’d say the same thing. The MLB needs to do something but they won’t cuz dodgers
