@AllenbyHarry No! Never ! It’s 50 yards dude! If you polled 300 Tour caddies ALL 300 would agree with me. A 50 foot chip would be almost impossible to group that tight ! And if you did there would be 30 or so balls laying just outside the grouping.

@KipHenley *potentially seen warm up or hit balls* because i know you are focused on your player. Still though, in all those years you havent had a time where everyone crowds a single player because they are flushing every single shot they hit?

21 years on tour. Probably caddying 30 weeks a year. 630 events, call it an even 100 players an event, youre most likely there for 5 days (avg is probably 5 days with your guy missing cut or being there on monday), you are telling me out of the 315,000 players you have witnessed warm up, you havent seen someone do this?

@DamienRactliffe I dont think a single sand belt course has $500 green fees?

Golfers, would you pay a $500 green fee to play one of Australia’s top 5 courses (private, sand belt)? When you could alternatively pay $125 to play a St Andrew’s Beach instead?

@BowTied_Golfer Why not reverse claw every putt? What could you possibly be doing outside of 12 feet that is better if youve resorted to rc😭 the only thing ive ever struggled with rc is extremely long putts which i can only wver remember having 1. I think 80ft+

Yes, the Rumors are true. I dropped from a 2 to a +1 this year despite some of the worst putting action inside 4 feet the world has ever seen. As with many things in life, the solution arose from a "bit" I started on a random Saturday morning loop. 5 birdies later and the RC is now a staple inside of 12 feet. Full GHIN year in review tonight on the Member's Bounce. 7pm est. Don't miss it.

@LinksGems ANGC is the only club that I'm aware of that you can't get onto using only old fashioned networking and being a genuinely good person.

Golf is the only hobby/interest/passion that asks this of itself. I love watches. I’ll never be able to own an A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk Striking Time. But I’m glad it exists, I enjoy seeing pictures of it and I can appreciate the craftsmanship involved and its influence on watchmaking. I’m not a car guy, but most car guys I know love to see a Ferrari F40 pass by even though they’ll never sit in one, much less own one. I’ve never understood why golf is different. Especially because unlike the watch and the car listed above, for all but the rarest exceptions, you CAN experience just about every golf course on the planet if you’re willing to invest the time, effort and money in making it happen. To be clear, this is nothing against you Tom - I see this question a lot, and I certainly respect your opinion, and I also wish American golf was more inclusive and accessible. I’ve just always been fascinated by the difference in mindset among golfers.

@LinksGems @GOLF_com @CabotSaintLucia Looks great. But so very very few will ever see it, why is it relevant?

A buddy of mine played our last round of golf in waterproof trail running shoes from a popular shoe brand, instead of golf shoes. They looked fashionable and he said they were more comfortable than any of his golf shoes. Anyone make the switch away from Golf shoes? Thoughts?

Golf pride tour velvet cord ribbed OR Lamkin (i think crossline but i swear its not) cord ribbed. The closest ive found in any grip made today is the gp Zcord align, but its too hard. Mcc is too soft and only half cord. Tour velvet align is the next best thing besides putting reminder in myself on gp tour velvet cord rounds

Anyone have super strong preference for grips? I do! Highly recommend the following: 4.) GP MCC 3.) Lamkin UTX 2.) GP Victory “grip rite” 1.) GP Victory “grip rite” half-cord —In my opinion it’s the best grip ever made. 2 layers of tape and off we go!

Is rough like this too much? I can’t stand when the rough is like this. Friend of mine sent me this yesterday. He played a “bucket list” course and this is what the conditions were. Nothing worse than all day watching entire foursomes shuffling in the rough, a couple steps from the edge of the fairway. Rough like this is fine if it’s a US Open. But setting up a course like this for the rest of us non-world-class golfers is ridiculous. It slows down pace-of-play and makes the day not a lot of fun. If your course has 50+ yard wide fairways, then I am OK with rough like this. But if your fairways are 25-35 yards wide (like they were for my friend), than rough like this is such a bad idea. I’ve talked to a few head pros at courses that have rough like this, and the overwhelming “old school” mentality was that “golf is supposed to be hard”. News flash…. Golf is already incredibly hard without rough tall and thick enough you can barely find the ball much less advance it.

Green flags in a Four-Ball Partner - the same putter for 5+ years - walks - goes to the gym/yoga/pilates - doesn't drink on course - wants to go second - sonartec 14* - plays to middle of every green - never apologizes - questions are really directions

@goodlifeyoda Lacoste’s cotton knit sweaters are the best imo. Never understood not wearing knit sweaters, most modern styles are so baggy and get annoying around the wrists

Growing up, is ditching the Patagonia-like puffer jackets, pullovers, and vests for old-school sweaters. No whooshing when you swing. No more looking like a child that mom dressed. This is a refined look that actually keeps an even body temperature, is breathable, and can be dressed way up or down. I just picked one of the Holderness and Bourne Shaw Crewneck Sweaters in Heathered Gray yesterday for January rounds + when I travel up North for early Spring. For the money, nothing better on the market.
