Approximately 6 million people in SA live in shack dwellings. On cold and rainy days I am most reminded why that should not be tolerable as even the minimum quality of life a person in this country should have. We need to set a minimum that we will ensure noone lives below.

Another public asset privatised? Private sector doesn’t provide public amenities or services. Their objectives are profit making. The DA is selling off our city in broad daylight & we should start paying attention to this asset-stripping. Public land must serve the public.

150 tankers are now anchored in the Gulf, unable to move. Iran's IRGC is broadcasting 'no ship is allowed to pass the Strait of Hormuz' on maritime radio. A tanker was struck off Oman on Sunday. The de facto blockade has begun.

The @Our_DA run @CityofCT just sold the iconic Good Hope Centre for R135 million. Part of the 53 properties they auctioned off today as the DA raids the family silver - except the silver doesn’t belong to them. It’s an absolute disgrace. These public assets belong to the people. @geordinhl must decide if he’s a public servant or a property trader. If he’s a property trader he should trade with his own properties and not the peoples’! Bargain basement price!

@Martin_ASFL @Stop_Noncents i live in germany. i do not need to imagine living in a world where the state cares about poor people. I live in this world. It could be way better and yes if we had more state owned housing the rent would be lower but we keep on fighting for that

This is great news. Governments have no business being landlords. They need to focus on their core mandates and not playing property manager. Clean that asset sheet and watch the comrades cry about how their feasts are finally being subjected to the real world of market forces.
