Something I am grateful for? I learned to read easily. I'm a fast reader. It's helped a LOT on this project. I have read hundreds of articles/books about the science of reading over the past 5 years. I recommend 10 things here (was SUPER hard to choose). apmreports.org/story/2022/10/…

As many of you know, for the past several years I've been reporting on what is up with how kids are taught to read. So many questions … (1/4) podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sol…

When asked to name one thing that teachers can do to improve learning outcomes for our Ss, Dr Archer suggested increasing the # of opportunities to respond. Move away from raising hands; everybody does everything (says it, writes it, does it), or as we say in FSL ‘tout le monde’.

"The path to improving a system requires coherence, including a shared depth of understanding about the nature of the improvements and work by all individuals in the system." So many gems in this article!

U-Lit Coaches are the unsung heroes! No one knows how impossible it is to convince someone of change when they “don’t know what they don’t know”. U-lit coaches were tasked with trying. @MsBerlinerRCD28 @AFletcherDOE 🪨⭐️

I am VERY pleased 2 say that after supporting my school who was using TC Phonics for 4 school years, we are kicking it 2 the curb! This was before the new aministration made their plan known. 4 years of advocacy in my role at ULiT coach has paid off! Data talks! Research talks!
