@tempo's Machine Payments Protocol launched today, alongside their mainnet. Like x402, @mpp enables automated micropayments embedded alongside otherwise ordinary API requests, and we are already seeing a familiar pattern emerge.

As of February 2026, @solana leads all chains in adjusted stablecoin volume at 36.9%. Up from just 3.4% a year ago. But as that's been happening, adjusted stablecoin volume on @base jumped from 1.5% to 11% in two months. A year ago, the top two chains controlled over 80% of adjusted volume between them. That number is now 67.5%, with a completely different set of chains holding those positions. Volume isn't consolidating. It's spreading. Data: @AlliumLabs

I used Claude Code + @AlliumLabs MCP to build an x402 Dashboard It took me less than 1 hour I'm exploring what happens when we combine AI + onchain data infra This is part of my research experiment for the upcoming @nexusdatalabs issue on the intersection of data analysis × AI The dashboard pulls live onchain data across Base, Polygon & Solana and tracks: > Daily volume & transactions by chain > Top facilitators by volume/tx > Unique senders & receivers growth > Average transaction size Unfortunately, I hit my limit on Claude and had to stop for now Quick x402 context: > It's a protocol that turns APIs/services into payable endpoints using stablecoins directly in the HTTP flow > No subscriptions, API keys, or billing accounts. A agent just pays per request > It's a machine-to-machine payments native to the internet The new agent economy will need analytics layers like this Over the coming weeks I'll keep digging into how AI can accelerate research/analysis, but remembering humans still needs to drive the tools and provide real context AI can't do that... yet Would love to hear your feedback PS: thanks to @eltoniselton for the tip on how to optimize my requests
