If the Strait is closed for much longer we are f*cked. Peak covid lock down led to a ~8 mbpd oil demand destruction. The largest global demand destruction event in history. Current supply destruction is ~ twice as large, meaning even a covid style lockdown won't be enough to balance the market. Even with announced SPR releases of 400 MB from the US it will still not be enough. The size of the release doesn't matter what matters is how fast they can be drained, which should be ~2 mbpd. There is no policy tool which can offset the massive supply cliff which is unfolding

@DanielLDavis1 You're correct. The word of Iranians is much more reliable than the word of Trump, or anyone else in his administration.

We should not dismiss these threats. The Iranian foreign minister rarely makes threats that his country does not latter make good on. We started this war of choice and have been paying for it since the beginning, and now because of this latest escalation by Israel against economic targets in Iran, there’s no reason why the Iranian missile forces would not retaliate in kind. The IRGC moments ago announced that they will no longer strike back proportionally, but will strike back out of proportion, beginning, apparently tonight. We could be in for a very dark and violent evening…

Israel has hit 2 of Iran's largest steel factories, a power plant and civilian nuclear sites among other infrastructure. Israel claims it acted in coordination with the U.S. Attack contradicts POTUS extended deadline for diplomacy. Iran will exact HEAVY price for Israeli crimes

@RobertJMolnar @willchamberlain Report came out yesterday saying nearly 70% of their rocket inventory is intact. Have their nuclear material deep in the mountains, they could make a bomb pretty soon. Hormuz is shut, they have the global economy as leverage. And they have a pissed off million man Shia army

The war's not even a month long, we haven't taken a casualty in the last two weeks, we're systematically destroying Iranian military capabilities, and they are down to playing their final card (closing the Straits), and people are panicking? Relax folks!

The view from Apollo chief economist Torsten Slok: “Markets are overreacting to what will likely be a 4- to 6-week period of volatility, which will ultimately result in 50 years of stability in oil markets, supply chains and geopolitics.”

@RealSpitfire @BlessedbetheUS Closing the border is just putting things back to default settings, not too impressive. Burying the Epstein investigation ruined him, nothing to save, like Taft was remembered for being fat, Trump will be remembered as a perv

Three things need to happen to save midterms. 1. Get out of Iran 2. Nuke the filibuster 3. Pass the SAVE Act. Everything else will follow if these things happen.

Why the US cannot end the Iran war: Iran demands the US leave the Middle East As a result the US would lose petrodollar status As a result the US would lose reserve currency status As a result the US can no longer service its debt All of the above with Iran making NO DEAL
