Look, I hate generative AI and I think my timeline proves that, but people immediately going scorched earth and writing off an entire company based on one or two tweets isn’t terribly helpful to the discourse imo. And while they said or did something you don’t agree with, they’re still human at the end of the day. And I think some people are SO quick to cast judgment and write someone or something off at the first whiff of a thing they don’t agree with. It feels like hunting for wins or justice online because we’re so powerless to so many awful things happening in the world right now. So I get it. And I’ve been guilty of it, no fucking doubt. But I’m realizing how destructive that will be long term for society. Well I think, anyway. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk on my preachy soapbox. I never expect anyone to read these essays really. Just helpful for me to get my thoughts out of my head and put somewhere, if that makes sense. Back to doing some nerd shit today. Gonna record a video fixing that shiny floor in raya lucaria with the awful cube map reflection.

After making a Portfolio day post for the first time in a while, I'm thinking of changing industries. My time in games industry has taught me a lot, but I not enough to keep up. My peers are now seniors, my juniors are outpacing me, layoffs 24/7. I might not be cut out for this.

However, now that I’ve taken a very extensive break. I’ve been feeling like getting back to it again, it’s so extremely important to take breaks and to pace yourself. This should be a marathon, not a race.

That I just could not seem to overcome. The very idea of it filled me with so much anxiety I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Even though I missed it, and now it’s been months.

the discussion going right now is interesting. I burnt myself out earlier this year trying to create my portfolio. Even though I love making 3D art and really want to break into the industry the thought of sitting at my computer to actually work became an insurmountable challenge
