This Islamophobic garbage would be bad enough from anyone—but is much more toxic and dangerous from a Member of Congress. America is a land of religious liberty, where all have the freedom to worship or not without fear or favor from our government.

A powerful speech by John Moon about Freedom House Ambulance Service, an all Black group of pioneers that served as the first paramedics in the country. An incredible legacy that has not received the attention it deserves. #NCS2024 @neurocritical

“Did you know America's first paramedics were Black men? Freedom House Ambulance Service trained 25 Black men to become the nation's first paramedics, bringing advanced life-saving techniques to Pittsburgh's underserved communities. Their courage and groundbreaking achievements forever changed emergency medical services, but their story was nearly forgotten.”-Something Black Made

NEW: New bodycam footage shows Texas man Kenneth Knotts saying "I can't breathe" before dying in police custody at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Knotts was taken for a mental health evaluation after a traffic stop. When he got to the hospital, Knotts appeared to be suffering from a mental breakdown and wouldn't comply with the police. Knotts was taken to the hospital after his tire blew out on the freeway. An incident report says he was acting "erratically, combative and spitting" when police approached. After wrestling with him and putting him on his stomach in the hospital, Knotts stopped breathing. "No pulse! No pulse!" a staffer yelled. The medical examiner report allegedly ruled Knotts died of cardiac arrest after being put in a "semi-prone position," a homicide. In November, a Dallas County grand jury declined to indict anyone involved with the homicide.

@persianjewess 1. The 9:1 ratio also includes famine, poor sanitation, and curable infections that occur months after the war’s end. These numbers are indirectly related to the war Itself but can be attributable. 2. No matter the math, that’s still a lot of kids

Gaza Health Ministry (Hamas) admits Gaza fatalities (civilian and militant) actually number 22,091. With Israel’s estimate of 13,000 militant deaths, this means only 9,000 Gaza civilians have died. A civilian casualty ratio of LESS THAN 1:1. **The average casualty ratio in modern warfare is 9:1 #StandWithIsrael

So much of our politics is about deliberately ignoring the underlying question. For those who want a ceasefire in Gaza, the underlying question is: do you want Hamas to survive as an operational entity? For those who want defunding of Ukraine, the underlying question is: do you want Russia to ingest Ukraine?

Know-nothing activists — who think a transgender flag and Hamas flag go well together — have unfortunately infiltrated Biden’s thinking. Let’s put this idea of a ceasefire into perspective. You want Israel to stop fighting against an enemy that has no intention of ever stopping. You know when there was a ceasefire? October 6th. You know what happened on October 7th? The biggest massacre of Israelis in recent history. The rape of countless women. The burning of infants. The ruthless killing of civilians. War is always ugly, but the blood of every civilian death is on Hamas. Not Israel. The demand should be simple: Hamas must surrender totally and completely and allow a transition of power. Hamas can never have power again. If you care about Palestinian lives, that is what must happen.

Joe Biden's logic when it comes to foreign conflicts not involving the United States: if you are an American ally fighting a semi-traditional war with a uniformed enemy, we'll back you to the hilt (Ukraine). If you are an American ally battling a terrorist group that takes hostages and hides among civilians, you must pre-emptively surrender (Israel). In short, the more evil you are, the more the Biden administration flies cover for you and places restrictions on America's allies.

@HilzFuld I don’t get it. Shouldn’t Jews be proud of their products and display it as such? Like Israeli couscous?

This is not a joke. I repeat. This is NOT a joke. 🥺🤮 Remind me please, why does this sound so familiar? A country that has been overflowing with antisemitism in the streets has now decided to begin marking products owned and produced by Jews. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I know it sounds so familiar. I’ve seen this movie before. I remember that in that other place, that other movie, there was also violence against Jews in the streets, there was also Jew haters in public office, and there was also bans on Jewish athletes, artists, and politicians. Jewish stores were also being vandalized. Some were lit on fire, others burned, and others boycotted. Oh man, where was this? It’s on the tip of my tongue. There was a political party that was overwhelmingly anti Jewish. Cmon… Help me out here. Jews were attacked and harassed on the streets, some were even murdered. Is this not ringing a bell? Am I imagining it or did this happen before? I think we all know where we’ve seen this script before and it didn’t end well. But please, my American brothers and sisters, tell me more about how it could never happen to you. What hasn’t happened? This article was published 3 hours ago as Biden pressures Israel, and not Hamas, to accept a ceasefire and end the war. When are we going to finally understand that Biden is no supporter of Israel or the Jews? Yes, he’s done some good things and for that, we should be grateful, but this war would have probably been over if it wasn’t for his constant pressure and threats. I don’t know about you, but that’s not how I treat friends. This news makes me physically ill.

A few high-level thoughts on a potential solution in Gaza: Step one: Give Gazan residents something to look forward to. Without hope, there is only despair, anger, and violence. Hope comes from Israel’s and United States’ commitment that once Hamas is destroyed, Israel and the U.S. will support the creation of New Gaza subject to security commitments from the U.S. and Gulf states. New Gaza is completely rebuilt with modern infrastructure, sustainable energy and clean water, world-class architecture, technology, healthcare, education, favorable taxation, thoughtfully designed business creation incentives, and world class resorts on the Mediterranean. The design of New Gaza begins immediately with a global competition where master planners, architects, technologists, form consortiums to compete for large financial awards and the opportunity to build a new city from a blank sheet of paper. New Gaza is a model city. Think the Saudi neom.com but on the Mediterranean. New Gaza is rebuilt and governed by a consortium of Gulf states and the U.S. Economic and tax incentives are designed to encourage private foreign investment so private sector investors have a vested long term interest in Gaza and businesses are incentivized to locate in Gaza. Step two: Civilians in Rafa are moved to a refugee camp safe zone built in the Negev desert adjoining Gaza. Step three: IDF destroys Hamas. Step four: The reconstruction of Gaza begins. Step five: Civilians return as the city is rebuilt. As always, I welcome your feedback. If you have nothing constructive to say, please keep it to yourself. Flame throwing accomplishes nothing. If you think this a bad approach, please share your better ideas.
