I believe this trend will continue to go up as AI builders increasingly build agentic AI applications. Think of agentic AI as small teams of individual models. As a team, they reason better, but they also burn a lot more tokens passing information between each other. So the marginal cost of agentic AI is simply intolerable for most AI builders using proprietary closed models. On the other hand, the cost of open-model APIs is 5–10x cheaper than closed ones, which makes them much better value for money when building agentic applications. This is very bullish for $NBIS, which is building probably the world’s first native AI cloud: Open models with lightning-fast inference (Eigen AI), native agentic “Google” search (Tavily), bulletproof reliability (Clarifai, LangChain, NVIDIA NemoClaw), and native cloud protection (CrowdStrike), all stacked together.
