No, Ghana is not “stealing” ADOS reparations. Reparations are not a group project with only one winner. Stop flattening history. “Africans sold us” is lazy analysis. Some rulers and merchants collaborated under pressure, greed, and war — but Europe and the Americas built the ships, financed the trade, wrote the laws, insured the cargo, bred humans for profit, and turned Black suffering into an economic system. Also, “colonialism was only 83 years” is a stupid metric. If somebody robs your family for 83 years, controls your land, labor, borders, resources, and future — the damage doesn’t magically expire because the calendar moved. ADOS deserves reparations. Africa deserves reparative justice. Only a colonized mind thinks Black people have to fight each other for crumbs while the empires walk free.

@imran_tmm I think it is important to call out the misrepresentation. When we start letting anyone call themselves dr and professor, it erodes the importance of these titles. He has not done the work to be called it. Even now, I come across people citing him like he is an expert.

I disagree with Jiang on lots of things but to get hung up on whether he's actually a professor or not is stupid. Being a professor in anything offers very little legitimacy in this day and age. The only thing that matters is whether your ideas hold up under analysis and critique.
