@redhistorian I didn’t vote as I was away and despite me doing the proxy vote application before the deadline it was never processed. Wonder how many others were in the same boat too (and all the issues around postal voting)

There needs to be a really thorough review of the impact of Voter ID (as the government has promised). We shouldn't just let the waters close over this.

The truth is that only approx 1% of the green belt is already developed, and those petrol stations/quarries/car parks often tend to be in places you wouldn't want to build, not least because they're isolated or away from transport infrastructure. But...

The new NPPF (which they've helpfully done track changes on) introduces a new category of green belt land called 'grey belt', which is exempt from existing restrictions on green belt land.

@jamesrbuk Seems rather a weak argument against subsidised workplace drinking. Sure, anyone can leave their workplace to go for a drink, but surely there’s a difference between this and explicitly allowing it onsite? It’s about messaging as much as anything else isn’t it?
