Great to welcome Jenny from VAWG Clacks & Katie and Emma from Clacks Women's Aid to @AlvaAcademy today. Pupils took part in the Scapegoat Exhibition, and completed tasks which supported #IWD2025. Amazing participation from our S3 MS class, @MissGFreeland!

As part of our raising awareness & diversity agenda we are celebrating Chinese New Year starting tmrw. Look out for which signs of the zodiac each staff member is on our doors🧧🏮 see what the most common animal is & enter the competition. 🐀 feel mine are pretty accurate 🤔

A Saturday well spent visiting the Women in Revolt exhibition at the National Galleries in Edinburgh & a bit of inspiration for our S3 Global Challenges unit 💪🏻

Lovely to kick off YPI for another year at @AlvaAcademy this after. S3 were a delight to speak to and it was made extra special by hearing from last years winning students and charity @clackswomensaid about the impact YPI has had on them. Huge thanks to @AlvaClassics for putting together a great assembly.

We’ve nearly made it to the Winter Solstice! Pupils came along at lunchtime today to find out about the shortest day of the year and designed awesome Yule logs. A little game of bingo to round up the festivities, well done to our winner Amy M and to Daniel for being the host

Fabulous homework by S1 to round off their Diversity and Rites of Passage unit @AlvaAcademy. The homework consolidated learning and understanding about Jewish weddings. Santa was too tempting to leave off of the cake baked by one young man. Great job S1!

Have made Christmas revision bags for our Highers, to help them prepare for their RMPS prelims in January 👜 with @AlvaRmps

Great effort from S2 today who are learning about Hannukah as part of the Festivals unit @AlvaAcademy. Thanks to @AlvaRmps for the fab lesson. Playing dreidel proved really popular!
