கோவை இருகூர் அருகே 13 வயதே ஆன பள்ளிச் சிறுவன் நண்பர்களால் அடித்துக் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள செய்தி மனதைப் பதைபதைக்க வைக்கிறது. பெற்றோர்கள் நம் பிள்ளைகளைத் தொடர்ந்து கவனிக்க வேண்டும். குழந்தைகள் எதைப் பார்க்கிறார்கள், என்ன பேசுகிறார்கள் எனக் கண்காணித்து, அவர்களிடம் ஏற்படும் உளவியல் மாற்றங்களை அறிந்து, நாம்தான் நல்வழிப்படுத்த வேண்டும். பள்ளியில் மாணவர்களுடன் அதிக நேரம் செலவிடும் ஆசிரியப் பெருமக்களும் அவர்களிடம் கல்வியறிவோடு பொறுமையையும் அன்பையும் மனதில் விதைக்க வேண்டும் என்பதையே இந்தக் கொடிய நிகழ்வு நமக்கு உணர்த்துகிறது. நம் மாநிலத்தின் வருங்காலமே குழந்தைகள்தான். அவர்களைப் பொறுப்புடன் வளர்த்தெடுப்பது நம் அனைவரின் சமூகக் கடமை!
