@ashtonlfisher Chesterfield has required schools to wear mask since my (year-round- school started. It would have been in the best interest of your students (it seems now) if your district had implemented that same precaution.

They presented the data and kept talking about how this is much worse than ANY point last school year (we were f2f all year). …hmm. Probably because literally NO mitigation efforts are being implemented right now.

My school board had an emergency meeting and voted today to go virtual for one week. We’ve been in school for 9 days. Less than two weeks… over 630 student quarantines and 150 student positives.

4 teams of 5th graders were tasked to design a building of their choice. Not only did each team collaborate to complete the assignment, the entire class made the decision to have each team create a building from a specific cartoon. Can you guess which show?@Falling_CreekES

@AmandaJFCES @PegGrafwallner @Target Supplies not being bought by a school district isn’t Target’s fault. I’m just saying be grateful. Many places did give deals to medical professionals during & just after the lockdowns in gratitude. I wasn’t upset they received those breaks even though they made more than me.

Target is offering teachers 15% off for supplies for their classrooms. I’m curious. Do doctors pay for their own supplies? Dentists? Lawyers? The audacity of the ad is what bothered me. It is assumed we will purchase supplies because it’s what we’ve always done for our students.

@CoachKCullen @PegGrafwallner @Target I would be complete agreement with you if my salary wasn’t half of the average PA salary. I do appreciate all discounts, it would be nice however, if items of academic necessity were purchased by school districts and not passed on to teachers.

@AmandaJFCES @PegGrafwallner @Target @target doesn’t have to give any discount. It’s a nice gesture k if I take advantage of it, I’ll be grateful. My wife doesn’t have Back to the Medical Office sales, I’m sure she would be happy for discounts for “stethoscopes among other things”.

@CoachKCullen @PegGrafwallner @Target It is sad that retailers recognize the amount of money that teachers are expected to pay out each year. It’s a lot more than the cost of a stethoscope.

@PegGrafwallner It looks like @Target wants to help out teachers. I guess I’m not seeing the audacity in providing a discount that is not being offered to other professions.
