Oxyntic gland adenomas are benign. They can progress and invade the submucosa, at which point they are classified as gastric adenoma of fundic gland type. Endoscopic resection is sufficient treatment, since gastric adenoma of fundic gland type behaves as a low-grade lesion.

This is the H&E from the frozen tissue submitted for IF examined under fluorescent light. In a patient with anemia, thrombocytopenia, high LDH and schistocytes, what is your diagnosis? #DiagnoseThis #RenalPath #PathX

This image shows the prominent intracytoplasmic tubular epithelial crystals characteristic of a subset of light chain proximal tubulopathy cases associated with Fanconi syndrome (normoglycemic glycosuria, aminoaciduria, uricosuria, hyperphosphaturia with hypophosphatemia). The crystals represent precipitated nephrotoxic monoclonal light chains, and unlike cases without crystals, pronase-digested immunofluorescence may be helpful in proving light chain restriction when routine immunofluorescence is negative. Light chain proximal tubulopathy with crystals indicates an underlying clonal plasma cell proliferation, and may be seen in patients with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), multiple myeloma, or lymphoma. Evidence of light chain cast nephropathy and/or monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease may also be present in a given biopsy. #NephTwitter

Renal Path terms I commonly use as verbs: 1. To "Banff": I "Banff'ed" it and it's TCMR Grade 1B. 2. To "IF/TA": Hey, can you "IF/TA" this for me? So, how would YOU "IF/TA" this case of HIV-associated collapsing glomerulopathy? And what's your favorite color for this? 🤓
