@bryce_spalding 3. There are 8 Infielders on the 40-man and Harrison is probably the first infielder not on the 40 man. If we assume the generally expected 26-man, first two infielder injury replacements are Barrero and Steer and Harrison would be 3rd.

@BranonLusb80141 @RedsFan_Brandon You need to bring in 4-5 Shortstop prospects, at least, every year. You need a minimum of 10 in the organization to fill out the rosters of every Minor League team, and the majority of Shortstops eventually end up at 2nd or 3rd.

@RedsInFour McLain is the first position player from the 21' draft to make it to the Majors, and the first player from the first 2 rounds. So looking at it that way it's "wow he got here quickly".

This isn't a bad thing either, based on the payroll accounted for in the future it shouldn't be a big deal paying McLain a bit more than expected in Years 3-6 of his team control. If anything, it just makes me wonder what took so long lol.

Matt McLain will be tied for the 75th player to debut in 2023. In 2021, Alek Manoah achieved Super 2 as the 101st player to debut. In 2020, Isaac Parades achieve it as the 112th. In 2019, Mike Yastrzemski achieved it as the 95th. Guess Super 2 didn't really matter after all.

@RedsInFour Sure, but RBI are primarily determined by where you hit in the batting order. A player who hits with runners on base more often, isn't a better player than a player with fewer RBI opportunities.

Statistics in sports are funny. Little statements like “OBP was generally undervalued for awhile” or “RBIs are more context-dependent than most other counting stats” led to people developing entire personalities around the idea that batting average & RBI are meaningless.
