Why did Columbus went out explore the world and discovered the New World? Why to invent the internet? Why to invent the mobile phone? Not even you. So best is to let it all happen and each of us to do their part to make things better. Right now we are benefiting from the adventure of the original space race and lunar landing. Yeah, I (as an outsider) critiqued the way the US spends its money, that's fair. Although I think most US citizens don't exactly love the way their government spends their money either. Do you like the way the US government spends what's partly your money? I never called any US citizens evil though. The US spends a great deal, many times what it spends on reaching for the moon, on alleviating "suffering of suicidal people". In fact we spend more on healthcare than we spend on any other thing, including defense, moon travel, and indeed anything else. It consumes about 30% of our federal budget, and growing faster than any other category. Your wacky reasoning is that ANYTHING we spend other than on healthcare is evil.
