With the news that a second plane, an A10 was shot down (pilot safe) makes me wonder if those recent shipments from Russia to Iran had some new weapons

We’re halfway there. At the time of posting this, the Artemis II mission is about halfway to the Moon. When the astronauts arrive, they will conduct a lunar flyby and collect scientific observations of the Moon’s surface.

Given the huge role they are playing in the rescue of the F-15E WSO in Iran, reupping a story I did about the hell PJs go through sometimes to live up to their creed: "These things we do, that others may live." Mad respect for this community. tampabay.com/news/military/…

Combat Search and Rescue is perilous by definition no matter the situation. Executing a recovery deep within Iranian airspace in broad daylight is an entirely different level of risk. With assets operating low and slow, taking fire was a certainty. Regardless, CSAR remains a non-negotiable moral obligation and a sacred promise to every airman. "These things we do that others may live".

In Afghanistan I had the honor of serving in combat alongside Air Force Pararescuemen, who helped evacuate wounded Marines during the Battle of Marjah. Incredibly brave men. Their motto: “These things we do, that others may live.”

After a U.S. F-15E fighter jet was shot down over Iran, CBS News national security analyst and Marine veteran @AaronBMacLean, host of @schoolofwarpod, explains what happens when a pilot ejects in hostile territory, including high-risk rescue missions and the survival gear pilots carry.” cbsn.ws/4c4cpNz

US Air Force CSAR personnel are the best in the world at what they do. If anyone can recover a downed aircrew member, it’s going to be them. Praying for them and our missing airman.

ZELENSKYY to BBC: We went through difficult relations with Iran. We did nothing to them. They shot down our plane, killed our passengers and crew, didn’t admit it, and didn’t let experts in. Then the full-scale war started. They handed Shahed drones to Russians to kill our civilians. I asked them to stop. They promised there would be only one batch. They lied and kept supplying weapons. That’s why I consider them accomplices of Russia.

NASA has released the first full image of Earth in 54 years. The photo was taken from the Orion spacecraft, which is currently traveling to the Moon. The last time Earth was photographed in its entirety from deep space was in 1972 during the Apollo 17 mission. Since then, such images have been created by stitching together multiple shots taken from Earth’s orbit.

As a former combat helicopter pilot who flew for two years in hostile territory in combat zones, I will tell you that it was very comforting, knowing that if you got shot down… That we had unwavering faith that the US military would stop everything and the new mission in the entire AOR would be your rescue. Incredibly grateful for CSARs bravery. They are going to get the second pilot. x.com/DD_Geopolitics…

If you ever meet an Air Force PJ, buy them a drink. They’re some of the bravest MFs you’ll ever meet. They’ve been at this all day trying to find the WSO, despite taking fire every time they go out. “These Things We Do, That Others May Live”

An editor in the @CBSNews DC bureau asked me about combat rescue. I told him about the pits of hell Navy Corpsman will wade through to get to a patient. About the Air Force PJs and their motto “That Others May Live” and I choked up a bit thinking of them trying to save Seth.
