People are misunderstanding the Nyanzi issue and taking it out of context. Legally court can summon anyone to be a state witness as long as they believe you have relevant information to the case. And you cannot refuse to go since it will be contempt of court. Let’s give Mr. Nyanzi grace until the case unfolds, they will put him up and we shall hear his testimony. Let’s not be too fast to blackmail. A lawyer can guide more on this, this is as far as I know🙏 @AAgather

I’m starting a thread of Ugandan public affairs #HotTakes. I’ll be throwing here random observations from my travels around Uganda. You’re welcome to add yours as and when it hits you. 1-In the last 5 years, I’ve spent a night in at least 120 Ugandan districts. *Uganda has got a young people problem. If we don’t solve it and SOON, these young guys will easily burn down parliamentary building just to feel its warmth. #UGHotTake

Ssemujju demands humane enforcement of trade policies Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda urged government to implement the trade order with a “human face,” saying future operations must avoid harassment and abuse of traders. He questioned the use of non-official actors during enforcement, saying the conduct described could not be attributed to police or the military. Photo by Parliament
