Attached below is a very informative article on the impact COVID-19 has on global poverty and the hardest-hit regions. Estimates show that the pandemic will push roughly 49 million people into extreme poverty (living on less than $1.90/day). #EM203Robin blogs.worldbank.org/opendata/impac…

Do schools kill creativity? This video provides insights into how we can adopt a new notion of human ecology. Robinson talks on how seeing the students' potential and individuality is the first step in educating without killing creativity. #EM203Robin youtube.com/watch?v=iG9CE5…

eia.gov/energyexplaine… I looked at the impact the extraction and use of crude oil has on the environment. This link describes how harmful the extraction and use of crude oil is and gives an example of how ecosystems can be restored post extraction. #EM203Robin #EM203Research

Why is learning in the digital age difficult? Perhaps because we have all kinds of information through our devices and it is hard to decipher between what is useful and what is not. However, social media is a helpful tool to communicate with others and ultimately learn together!
Ashley Reid@EM203_AshleyR

Learning in the digital age can be complex although connectivism helps to connect various forms of knowledge. Social media is a great form of networking and distributing new information. #EM203Robin

Over the last few weeks, we have explored ways of learning in a digital Age and how advances & developments in tech have changed the way people learn. We also introduced ourselves to our groups by creating a unique comic strip using Pixton. #EM203Robin

@EM203alexzawora I agree! Most older people think that technology is the bane of our generation but, in times like this, we need each other to communicate and work together. Education, work, and our social lives depend on technology right now. Great tweet 😊 #EM203

Last week in my EM203 class I learned about constructivism and the importance of group discussion. A lot of the technology we have, like online discussion boards, can help to facilitate this kind of learning especially at a time like this given our social distancing. #EM203Robin

@EM203JJ Hey Jess! That's amazing that you can challenge yourself in this class and that it can benefit your future studies, what multitasking activity did you do? And did you enjoy it or find it more difficult than fun? #EM203

@EM203rwiebe I love this post, what instrument(s) do you play? And why do you think you learn by doing more than other learning tactics? Group work definitely benefits everyone when people can put their minds together! Have a great day! #EM203

EM203 has been very interesting so far especially as the current state of the world has most people learning and working online. I enjoyed studying Learning by Doing with my group especially since I am a musician and learn instruments by doing! #EM203Robin

@EM203mmoore I agree, it's a unique course that -in my opinion - is more applied than theoretical. It's amazing and it really teaches us to use our brains in different ways, I love it!😊 #EM203

Throughout the first few lessons in this #EM203Robin course, I have learned about the different ways that people think and learn. Lesson two is about different theories, one is 'the cognitivism theory.'
