If liquidity were fractured across various exchanges, everyone would get worse order execution in thinner orderbooks. Some random notes on gold's recent breakout: - After chilling above $2,000 for 2 months, gold has made all-time highs in a number of currencies, but nobody seems to care.... - Early January sentiment was a bit iffy, but gold stayed strong and consolidated above the (psychological) barrier of USD 2,000. - Central banks & sovereign buyers seem to have put a floor under the gold price. Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict, their buying spree's 2.6x the decade's quarterly average! - The current breakout is happening from a super low open-interest base and happened on the back of LT yields breaking down (just look at the price of the 30-year T-Bond Future!) - Momentum players (aka Western financial investors) are still on the sidelines (as can be seen with ETF flows). Imagine the frenzy if they dive in! By any metric, gold is not a crowded trade. The best is yet to come! #IGWT #IGWT24 #ingoldwetrust #GoldRush

@RonStoeferle Maybe. But probably not. Gold sucks and so do the miners. Dollar will strengthen to 125 and knock gold back to $1600. After that happens FED steps in and every asset goes to the moon.
