#WATCH | Puducherry: Senior Superintendent of Police (Law & Order) R Kalaivanan says, "Puducherry is having elections on the 9th April. For this, we have done all the preparatory measures. Around 35 check posts have been established in Puducherry, and we are strictly monitoring the movement of persons, vehicles and any kind of goods. We are also having three flying squads in each assembly constituency, and we are also using drone surveillance. Till now, Puducherry police have caught nearly 2600 litres of liquor and around 1500 kgs of banned tobacco products and around 1.5 kgs of drugs. We have also caught precious metals. Around 3 kg of gold has been seized by the police." He adds, "We have formed a social media monitoring cell. We are closely monitoring all the social media pages and posts. Through the drone surveillance, we found 2 cash distribution incidents, in which we registered the FIR and arrested those persons. The cybercrime unit is monitoring against where we showed many take-down notices, also regarding different objectionable content." (01.04)
