The reality in the Persian Gulf has changed. The Strait of Hormuz is governed by Iran, so: Respect the rules. Use secure routes. Do not mistake control for escalation. Watch these two videos. Listen carefully to the words. The contradictions are stark and staggering. It’s exactly why this entire farce is such a train wreck. The single biggest problem for the United States is that for two weeks they denied several things were even in the MOU while the Iranians stated that they were in. And it ended up with the Iranians being right. The Iranian regime is the single most dishonest entity on the planet, which only highlights how badly the US has handled this. The Iranian speaker went on to say that the Iranians will use the unfrozen funds and oil revenues however they like without restrictions, completely contradicting President Trump. It almost doesn’t even matter if Trump is correct. The optics matter. But trump’s own half-hearted fumble in responding to the question makes this even more unsettling and concerning.
