@nagabanebert1 It's remarkable how some people think international justice works like ordering a ride: 'Just come and pick him.' Reality is a bit more complicated than that.

Katungi should be EXTRADITED. Why can't the USA just come for him like they did with the Venezuelan president? Trump, why the DELAY?

Your question assumes a fact that has not been established. Under Uganda's Constitution and the Public Finance Management Act, any government revenue due to the Consolidated Fund must indeed be remitted. However, there is no Auditor General report, parliamentary finding, or court decision concluding that UPDF has unlawfully retained revenue from foreign missions. Peace support missions involve reimbursements for troop allowances, equipment, logistics, and operational costs—they are not automatically "net revenue" payable to the Consolidated Fund. If you have evidence of unremitted funds, table the audited records. Public accountability is strengthened by facts, not insinuations.

Has one shilling of net revenue from any UPDF foreign mission 19 years and counting ever been declared and paid into Uganda’s Consolidated Fund for national development? #EndPain

Mr. Lwaabaaga, That's precisely why professional ethics exist. A lawyer's duty is to represent the client competently, not to guarantee victory. If PLU chooses to question its own lawyer after a loss, that's a political issue—not evidence of sabotage. Courts decide cases on evidence and law, not on speculation about future accusations.

@AmonTumu @KampalaJournal Oh thank you Sir . But then look at it the other way, if counsel Ssegona lost the case, wouldn't PLU later accuse him of deliberate failure to put up a spirited fight, Wouldn't they then accuse him of sabotage of "his client". Or should we say it's not possible

Ssegona’s lust for money forces him into becoming a lawyer to international arms smuggler and member of political outfit that persecuted his comrade Erias Lukwago. The public was shocked to see Ssegona offering legal services to PLU’s Michael Katungi who is facing possible extradition to the US to battle charges of arms dealing and drug trafficking. #KJNews

George, you're conflating three separate issues: peacekeeping reimbursements, the national budget process, and the ICJ judgment. The absence of a specific budget line in my tweet doesn't negate the strategic, diplomatic, and economic value of UPDF deployments. Likewise, citing the ICJ award is not evidence that every UPDF foreign mission is a fiscal liability. If your standard is evidence, then apply it consistently: distinguish operational reimbursements, indirect economic benefits, and court-ordered reparations instead of collapsing them into a single political soundbite. Serious policy analysis requires nuance, not selective framing

A question is not an assertion. You cite reputation but name no budget line. Mission financing for the UPDF is not net income for Uganda. The clearest verified national fiscal consequence is the ICJ’s $325 million Congo liability, payable at $65 million a year. A lecture is not an answer.

I agree. Poor service delivery is a national problem, not a tribal one. If a regional referral hospital lacks doctors and essential medicines, that reflects a governance and accountability failure—not evidence that one tribe is "eating big." Let's demand better public services for every Ugandan instead of fueling divisive narratives.

🚨 "Ankole is eating big"—Oh really? Go check what Baryomunsi just found in Mbarara! Minister Baryomunsi's midnight raid on Mbarara Hospital exposed zero drugs & zero doctors. The regime doesn't favor the West; elites just favor themselves while local peasants suffer like everyone else. Stop the tribal wars.

Sande! Standing against injustice does not require the Bar to become a political actor. The rule of law is upheld through legal principle, due process, and institutional independence—not activism disguised as professional duty. Once the Bar confuses advocacy with partisanship, it undermines the very neutrality that gives its voice legitimacy.

@AmonTumu @UncleBillz The Bar is not a massage parlor or a drinking joint. It’s a body to stand against injustice. The bar can’t be indifferent at the time when the state is promoting injustice. Sadly at the point where the judiciary is getting naked. Let’s be logical.

🚨 Senior Advocate Elison Karuhanga has firmly responded to criticism from exiled ULS President Isaac Ssemakadde, stressing that the Uganda Law Society must remain an independent, neutral institution representing all lawyers regardless of political views. Karuhanga maintains that the Bar should not be drawn into partisan activism, but should uphold its statutory role with professionalism and impartiality at all times.

This is imaginative storytelling. You've connected unrelated events, assigned motives to multiple actors, and concluded there's a coordinated succession plot without substantiating any of it. That's not how serious political analysis works. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Until then, this remains an opinion—not a fact—and readers should treat it accordingly.

While the country watches Speaker Anita Among's machine get dismantled and parliament workers head to Luzira, veteran opposition giant Kizza Besigye remains firmly stuck on remand. Think about the timing. The succession battle between Gen. Muhoozi's PLU forces and Odrek Rwabwogo’s corporate technocrats is intensely active. Neither faction can afford an erratic, unpredictable veteran like Besigye rallying the masses on the streets while they fight for the post-Museveni crown. Keeping Besigye neutralized in Luzira isn't just about his specific trial, it’s about clearing the battlefield entirely so the first family's internal factions can settle their scores in peace. Do you agree? Let’s debate. #PLUvsNRM

Strategic planning is the hallmark of a professional and capable defence force. A military that pauses to evaluate performance, learn from experience, and set clear priorities is one that stays prepared for evolving security challenges. Leadership is not just about commanding troops—it is about vision, discipline, and institutional development. Wishing the CDF, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and the entire UPDF a productive retreat as they strengthen Uganda's security and readiness for the year ahead. 🇺🇬

Many friends and associates of Uganda’s First Family participate in transnational big business deals, including arms and gold trading, with people in UAE, Asia, DR Congo, South Sudan, and some countries in Europe, because they believe the First Family and regime will protect them if things go wrong. Now I see media influencers trying to defend arms dealer Katungi who’s indicted by United States claiming he didn’t know, I would’ve accepted if he wasn’t connected to Muhoes and the regime. Many of his friends have been lucky not to face these international indictments, he wasn’t. #FreeOurCountry

Calling for the abolition of elections isn't a sign of courage or political maturity—it's a rejection of the fundamental principle that leaders derive legitimacy from the consent of the people. If someone believes a leader enjoys overwhelming support, then elections should be the easiest contest to win, not something to abolish. Democracy isn't 'fake' because you dislike its outcomes; it's strengthened by participation, accountability, and the right of citizens to choose. The answer to concerns about governance is improving institutions, not eliminating the people's voice.... Lost sheep...

Kampala Solomon has called on the govt to remove election and let museveni be a supreme leader for life to save taxpayers money and allow muhoozi do whatever he wants without anyone telling him otherwise. "Why are we still fronting a fake democracy?" Solomon asks. "Stop wasting tax payer money on propaganda and sham elections." A young boy has now grown and is asking legitimate questions.

Strong institutions and organized grassroots structures are the backbone of any successful political movement. If PLU remains focused on patriotism, accountability, fighting corruption, and service to the people, it will become a powerful force for national transformation. The journey to the future starts in every village, every parish, and every district. Uganda deserves leadership driven by vision, first forward.🇺🇬

I thank Gen. @mkainerugaba and Secretary @HonTwallafadil, together with the entire PLU fraternity, for this vision. Let these structures be the vehicle through which we mobilize support for our next president, wage a relentless fight against corruption, and remain anchored in the founding ideology of the NRM — national socio-economic transformation. With @BalaamBarugahar , our Minister of Local Government, being PLU, it will be easier for us to reach down to the villages. @KagutaMuseveni @NRMOnline @IGGUganda @Pl_uganda

@SsemujjuNganda1 @FrankTumwebazek @mkainerugaba Typical, Hon. Ssemujju. While others see the discipline and sacrifice that come with completing military training, you're busy conducting a "weight assessment." Sometimes the smallest observations reveal the narrowest focus.

Congratulations to Pte Dickens on this important milestone. Choosing to serve your country through the UPDF is a noble commitment that demands discipline, sacrifice, and patriotism. Every trained soldier strengthens Uganda's peace, stability, and sovereignty. It's encouraging to see more educated young professionals answering the call to national service. Wishing him a distinguished military career as he serves with honor and integrity. Uganda is proud of such patriots.

President Museveni didn't expose failure—he demonstrated leadership. It takes confidence for a leader to publicly acknowledge a long-standing challenge and commit to fixing it instead of pretending it doesn't exist. Those celebrating the existence of a bad road conveniently ignore decades of investment in national infrastructure, security, electricity, and economic growth. No country develops by claiming every road is perfect. Real leadership is about identifying priorities and acting on them. The fact that the President personally highlighted the Katugo–Kaweweta road shows it is receiving attention, not being ignored. Turning that into political theatre may generate likes on social media, but it doesn't build a single kilometre of road.

During the pass-out, President Museveni openly pointed out the elephant in the room: "The road from Katugo to this training school (Kaweweta) has been a challenge for a long time. We shall fix it." Think about the irony. One of the most critical strategic military installation roads in the country has been broken "for a long time," right through the 2026 election cycle. 🇺🇬 If the state struggles to pave the road leading directly to its premier military training base, how confident are we that "Kisanja No More Sleep" will fix the everyday roads in your local village or municipality? 😴
