UPDATE: no surgery. I was given oral contrast and a CT scan a while later to see where the contrast goes. Fortunately, the contrast didn’t leak before it went through. The air is now suspected to be extra gas that can’t be released until the stoma starts “burping” again. And with that, Baruch Hashem ✡️ #RedWhiteAndJew

Lead guitarist Doug Hopkins wrote ‘Hey Jealousy’ in the late 1980’s about his ex-girlfriend as a a plea to win her back after their breakup caused by his drinking and cheating. Hopkins had severe alcohol issues and was fired by the Gin Blossoms. He watched from the sidelines as ‘Hey Jealousy’ became a hit. The song peaked at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993 and reached #4 on the Mainstream Rock chart. Deeply depressed, Hopkins died by suicide on December 5, 1993, at age 32.
