Since the launch of the $AMPL protocol in 2019, Ampleforth has a rich history of exhibiting disruptive forces within DeFi, pioneering the earliest non-fiat-based stability solutions. Users were, and still are, empowered to vote on key protocol upgrades, democratizing decision-making. ➕Mid-to-Late 2021 — Expanding AMPL In 2021, Ampleforth worked to expand AMPL outside of Ethereum, eventually launching on Avalanche and Binance Smart Chain (BSC), This made AMPL one of the most widely available rebasing assets across multiple blockchains. ➕ April 2022 — FORTH DAO Launch In 2022, a year after introducing the FORTH token, the official DAO was launched. This marked the completion of the ecosystem's democratization. The DAO launched with over $30M in held funds, placing it amongst the top 50 largest DAOs in the world at that time. ➕ Development and Launch of $SPOT (2022-2024) In December 2022, Ampleforth unveiled @SPOTprotocol, the world’s first-ever low-volatility commodity designed to function as durable, decentralized, and inflation-resistant money. Unlike traditional fiat-backed stables, SPOT provided the world with long-term purchasing power stability without reliance on centralized entities or artificial stability mechanisms to maintain value over time. ➕ Announcement of $USDaf & the Future (2024-Present) In late 2024, Ampleforth announced its partnership with @asymmetryfin to develop USDaf, a decentralized stablecoin leveraging SPOT and AMPL as collateral options. Why USDaf Matters: ✅ Truly decentralized stable asset — no reliance on fiat-backed reserves or artificial pegs. ✅ Reduces systemic risks of unstable collateral baskets and centralized stablecoins. ✅ Opens a native lending market for AMPL, allowing holders to borrow against their AMPL and SPOT holdings while leveraging USDaf within the broader DeFi ecosystem. ➕ 2025 & Beyond – The Future of Ampleforth With the upcoming launch of USDaf, Ampleforth is forging ahead by establishing USDaf as a key decentralized stable asset in DeFi.
