Is this summer or last summer hotter?
2023 has more days of 105°+, more consecutive hours 80°+, and more hours with a heat index 110°+.
But in 2022, the avg. high, low, and avg. temp are all warmer to date.
So, depending on the stat, 2022 or 2023 is hotter. Everyone happy now?

June 1 - July 26, 2023 has had 24 days with dew point of >75°F
42/56 days, 2023 has had the max dew point. Isn’t it safe to say this could be why so many feel this year is hotter?

Temperature is a measured number.
Heat index is a calculated number.
Heat Index is a flawed number. Even the National Weather Service, one of the heat index’s greatest proponents, says that the system is flawed and uses quite a few assumptions.

@wfaaweather Hotter is relative. If you’re going to compare the 2, then you should use heat index, not air temp. If you do that then this summer is way hotter
