@CoatesMarta I qualified as an RNLD 12 years ago and I am currently a Senior LeDeR Reviewer. I have had some amazing experiences working in the NHS from community nursing, working in a hospital as an LD liaison nurse and then in a paediatric hospital as a LD clinical nurse specialist

I recently interviewed a group of people with #LearningDisabilities for a new book. They all voted on ‘distress’ or ‘signs of distress’ to replace ‘challenging behaviour’ or ‘behaviour that challenges’ They said the reason I self injure or hit someone is because I’m distressed

Yesterday; myself & our team Psychologist agreed finishing touches to our desensitization packs for Adults with LD. These packs include desensitization for: - BP🩺 - Blood Tests💉 - ECG👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ They'll be used for clients awaiting desensitization for one of the above. #adjustedcare
