@NiagaraThistle @JayNoSnax @Nicolascole77 The problem is that most people don't interpret and understand the Bible in its historical context. They interpret it poorly. They see it as absolute truth. And they often harm others, humanity, or the Earth because of that inappropriate understanding.

@Amygdala715 @JayNoSnax @Nicolascole77 I agree 100%. That's why i think they should be read. But i thought you were actually taking a shot at 'read the bible' reply as many people do/would. I simply read too much into your comment.
English

@NiagaraThistle @JayNoSnax @Nicolascole77 Why? The Epic of Gilgemesh and other near eastern oral traditions and texts were the influence and source material for the Old Testament. If you are looking for timeless lessons and wisdom you can find them passed down through sources such as "fairy tales" and fables.
English

@Amygdala715 @JayNoSnax @Nicolascole77 I agree that those should be read too, but i think you are trying to diminish the importance of the works contained within the Bible and other religious texts.
English

@JayNoSnax @Nicolascole77 Well then why not The Epic of Gilgamesh, or Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales, or Aesop's Fables?

@HeartOTXHeartMD So an omnipotent sky spirit says let's make creatures in our image, but they're flawed, or they ate the wrong fruit, and they continue to behave badly, so he wipes out almost all of them, but then they are still not good enough so he makes a fair number of them really suffer?

I’ve been studying this book with some special physicians at work for the past few months.
This sage quote from CS Lewis is but a small part of the answer

@Pwilldc We really shouldn't pay attention to anything that guy has to say.

@awgaffney Glad that you know now. Never talk shit about this hero again.

@HeartOTXHeartMD I'm pretty sure we would. Its fundamental law code is copied from one's developed by earlier civilizations.
It also has things like genocide including dashing infants on rocks, slavery, Noah getting pass out drunk naked, and Lot's daughter's sleeping with him.

The system is broken when Biden can easily import 20 million illegal aliens, but Trump has to fight like heII to deport 2 million. A major problem.

@Wendi_Irlbeck So in Joshua, this would be Elohim, Adonai, or maybe El Shaddai.

If you want to understand this world open your Bible. Everything you need to know and have questions about is found in God's word. 🙏 The Bible provides peace, clarity, wisdom, guidance, and truth on how to navigate any situation in this world! Jesus and the Bible should be the first place you go for help instead of the last.

@Wendi_Irlbeck Read. It was your efforts AND the chaos and chance of the world/universe.
Why do some faithful people work hard but experience success?
English

It’s never luck. It’s always Jesus.
I’ve worked for YEARS for this. Slept on floors. Lived out of my car. Walked through an abusive relationship. Started over more times than I can count over 40 moves. There was a season in Nashville in a cockroach-infested apartment where I had nothing but faith and a calling I refused to let go of. Even when people told me I'd fail while I continued to struggle and work.
Nothing about my journey has been easy. I've sacrificed A LOT to get to where I'm at today. Business is tough. It's not easy.
But I’ve always known I was called to serve to help people, to pour into others, to be a dietitian. I’ve chosen people over profit, even when it didn’t make sense on paper. Some things haven’t worked out, and I don’t always understand why but that’s between them and God.
I failed my RD exam 3 times. But I didn’t quit. We don’t quit. We fail forward.
Success doesn’t look the same for everyone but when you pair relentless work ethic with faith and trust in the Lord, His WILL is always possible. God's rejection is His redirection.
“Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
Jesus already won. We all succeed when we find our faith and put our trust in Jesus Christ.
English

You don’t have to know 'how' when you know WHO!! 🙏
When you trust the Provider, you don’t need to understand the process. God’s math is DIFFERENT. What looks like not enough becomes MORE than enough in His hands.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” -Matthew 6:33
