ISEV is excited to announce a collaboration with the European Liquid Biopsy Society (ELBS) through the newly formed ISEV-ELBS Intersociety Working Group. Under the leadership of Caterina Nardella (@CaterinaNardel1), An Hendrix (@AnHendrix2), Carlos Salomon (@cfsalomo) and Julia Burnier (@jvburnier), the group aims to foster collaboration between the two societies with the goal of promoting extracellular vesicle research and its applications in liquid biopsy. The ISEV-ELBS group will work in close partnership with the ISEV Rigor & Standardization Subcommittee and the ELBS EV working group. “As the leading society for more than 2000 EV researchers, ISEV aims in part to uncover how EVs can be used to improve human health. Towards this end, EVs in liquid biopsies hold tremendous potential in many clinical applications. The collaboration between ISEV and ELBS through the formation of this intersociety working group represents an important step, and we are excited to work together in this direction”, said Ken Witwer (@KennethWWitwer), President of ISEV." So important! If you want to assign function to #extracellularvesicles (not even just exosomes!) then you need to know what coisolates are present. Control carefully, provide multiple levels of characterisation.

🪇Read in #JEV🪇These data from @AnHendrix2's lab demonstrate that EV preparation methods show method-dependent off-target enrichment of soluble cytokines which have implications for the study of #EV immunomodulatory bioactivity and warrants careful consideration.
