Allumeria, a sandbox game inspired by Minecraft, had its free Steam demo taken down yesterday after Microsoft issued a DMCA notice.
They claimed one promotional screenshot contained "Minecraft content" due to visual similarity.
Valve removed the page immediately. The developer posted on Discord that they were confused and unsure what to do, calling the claim unfounded.
After huge backlash, Microsoft withdrew the claim entirely.
The Steam page and demo are now restored thanks to rapid community attention and support.
The game is back and available again.
