The Iran conflict is highlighting how deeply the electric vehicle ecosystem depends on global supply chains. For India, one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets, disruptions in shipping routes, energy markets, and raw materials could reshape industry costs. India’s EV market has grown from 2,600 vehicles in 2014 to 2.34 million in 2025, but around 85% of battery cells used in the country are still imported, according to NITI Aayog. “Electric vehicles may not consume oil directly, but the ships that carry their components, the factories that assemble them, and the materials that go into batteries are all part of the same global energy system,” said Mahak Agrawal, India Lead at Riding Sunbeams. Rising freight costs, currency volatility, and pressure on global supply chains are already affecting project economics. “Geopolitics is no longer a background risk; it is an active line item in project cost,” said Rohit Gupta, Product Manager - Mobility at Inverted. Andrej Karpathy briefly launched and then removed an interactive map rating the AI exposure of 342 US occupations, analysing about 143 million jobs across the economy. The experiment, built in roughly two hours, assigned each role an exposure score from 0 to 10 based on how much its tasks rely on digital work. Karpathy later took the site down after it began circulating widely online. “I thought the code/data might be helpful to others to explore the BLS dataset visually, or colour it in different ways or with different prompts or add their own visualisations. It’s been wildly misinterpreted (which I should have anticipated even despite the readme docs), so I took it down,” he wrote on X. The analysis estimated that about 42% of jobs, roughly 59.9 million roles paying around $3.7 trillion annually, scored 7 or higher for potential AI exposure. Responding to the broader debate, Elon Musk commented, “All jobs will be optional. There will be universal high income,” while Karpathy clarified that the exposure scores were only rough estimates and “has no bearing on what actually happens to these occupations.” Read the full story: analyticsindiamag.com/ai-news/andrej… #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfWork #AIJobs #TechNews #GenerativeAI

Unacademy, once valued at $3.5 billion during India’s edtech boom, is set to be acquired by rival upGrad as the sector continues to reset after the pandemic surge. The companies have signed a term sheet for a 100% share-swap deal that would bring together two major online learning platforms in the country. Unacademy co-founder and CEO Gaurav Munjal said in a post on X that the valuation will not be disclosed until the transaction closes. The deal comes months after Munjal revealed that Unacademy’s valuation had dropped below $500 million, roughly 85% lower than its 2021 peak. “Unacademy helped invent the modern edtech playbook,” Munjal wrote. “Along the way, we lost some focus and market share, and the sector itself has not seen enough real product innovation in recent years.” upGrad co-founder Ronnie Screwvala said Munjal will continue to lead Unacademy after the acquisition and that the combined company will strengthen upGrad’s integrated model spanning K-12 education, upskilling, and lifelong learning. Founded in 2015, Unacademy has raised about $854.3 million from investors including SoftBank, Tiger Global, General Atlantic, and Peak XV Partners. #EdTech #IndianStartups #StartupNews #OnlineLearning #EdTechIndia

BHASHINI - (Digital India BHASHINI Division) is developing Shrutlekh, an AI system that detects language shifts mid-conversation and produces real-time transcripts and translations across India’s many languages. Built under the Digital India BHASHINI Division of the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the platform combines automatic speech recognition, language detection, and neural machine translation. It converts live speech into structured, searchable digital text while recognising when speakers switch between languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, or English. Amitabh Nag, CEO of the Digital India BHASHINI Division, said, "Building AI for a country as linguistically diverse as ours requires a fundamentally new approach to language technology. Through the BHASHINI ecosystem, we are creating a digital public infrastructure for languages that enables seamless communication, drives innovation across sectors, and ensures that the benefits of AI reach every citizen." Shrutlekh has already been used at events including Veer Bal Diwas 2025 in Puducherry, the World Summit on Disaster Management (WSDM) 2025 in Dehradun, and the 10th TiE Global Summit (TGS) Global Summit Rajasthan Chapter. #FrontPageLIVE 🔴 @Replit hits $9 billion valuation as @NVIDIAAI, @perplexity_ai, @Razorpay and Karnataka make major AI moves Replit has raised $400 million and tripled its valuation to $9 billion as it pivots from a code editor to an AI "creative director" built for non-technical users. The company says it has reached $1 billion in ARR while cutting half its workforce to prioritise automation. At the same time, Nvidia has invested $2 billion in Nebius Cloud in a push toward what it calls "AI Sovereignty", while Perplexity is rolling out a 24-7 AI agent system called "Personal Computer" running on Mac mini hardware and integrated with Salesforce and Snowflake. Meanwhile, Karnataka has formed a Responsible AI Committee chaired by Kris Gopalakrishnan to shape policy for AI in government services. Razorpay has also launched what it calls the world’s first AI-native Agent Studio at FTX’26 as hyperscalers move toward building massive in-house AI factories. @databricks has launched Genie Code, a system of autonomous AI agents designed to run complex data engineering and analytics operations as AI coding tools surge into multibillion-dollar revenue territory. The system builds on the company’s Genie platform and is designed to understand enterprise data systems rather than generate code. According to Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi, agents can automatically set up data pipelines, diagnose failures, and adapt to issues such as schema changes or modified permissions while continuously monitoring systems. “Instead of functioning merely as a coding assistant or helping generate code faster, these agents actually understand the structure of the data and existing data problems,” @alighodsi says. Genie Code integrates with Unity Catalogue to access data lineage, permissions, and governance rules across enterprise environments. Powered by a multi-agent architecture that combines large language models from providers including @AnthropicAI, @OpenAI, and @Google with smaller open-source models, the system is designed to coordinate specialised agents that can analyse data patterns, troubleshoot pipelines, and manage data workflows.
