I missed the last train in Seoul once. Phone at 3%. Didn’t speak Korean. It was raining, freezing, and I had no idea where I was supposed to go. I tried calling an Uber but my card kept failing because of my bank fraud protection. Perfect timing. I was standing outside the station looking completely defeated when this older woman walked up to me and started speaking Korean. I told her I didn’t understand. She pulled out her phone translator and typed:“You are lost?” I nodded. She asked where I was staying, looked at the address, then motioned for me to follow her. This woman walked me almost 15 minutes through side streets, holding her umbrella over both of us while I apologized every thirty seconds. When we got to my hotel, I tried offering her cash for helping me. She looked genuinely offended. Typed into the translator again:“If my son was lost somewhere, I hope someone helps him too.” Then she bowed and walked away in the rain before I could even process what happened. Some places still treat strangers like human beings first.

This poor family is standing under the scorching sun with a DAIKIN AC, alleging that they have been cheated. They say they purchased a DAIKIN AC from a showroom for around ₹39,000, and were assured of a 5-year warranty at the time of purchase. However, within just one and a half years, the AC stopped working and started leaking water. When they approached the showroom, they were told to contact customer care. Customer care informed them that the warranty was only for 1 year, which has now expired. Now, they are being asked to pay ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 for repairs. The family says that after spending ₹40,000 on the AC, how can they afford such heavy repair costs every year? They allege that the showroom falsely promised a 5-year warranty and misled them into buying this expensive AC.

An Indian national “community leader” has been handed a mammoth jail sentence for the "elaborately executed, manipulative and highly predatory" rapes of five Korean women. Balesh Dhankhar posted fake job advertisements to lure women into his orbit before drugging them in or near his home. The married man then groped and raped the women, filming his crimes for his future sexual gratification. All the women were either unconscious or significantly impaired at the time of the abuse. After preying on his 5th victim, Police raided his Sydney CBD unit and found date rape drugs and a video recorder disguised as a clock radio. A jury found him guilty of 39 offences, including 13 counts of sexual assault. Dhankhar continues to deny drugging the women or that sex was non consensual, telling a report writer there was a "difference in how I interpret consent, to how the law sees consent" District Court Judge Michael King was unmoved, jailing Dhankhar for a whopping 40 years. Dhankhar will be aged 83 when his full sentence of 40 years ends. Diversity is our strength.
