I lived in Japan for two years of my young adult life, so nowhere even close to as long as this person, and loved every day being there. One of the greatest cultures and people on earth, period. But I also share his understanding of how PH is handled, and the tension around it. It was like a governor on their shoulders. Ironically this joke from Trump, and the PM's response to it, has helped lift that, and hopefully throw it away for good. Humor can be the most cathartic and healing way to heal old wounds. I know, a little deep for a Sunday morning. But at least I waited until it was mid-morning and had my coffee to comment. We Americans aren't good first thing early in the morning on a Sunday, but then our Japanese friends already know that......

To my American friends, I want to speak from the heart, because this moment truly moved me as a Japanese citizen. When President Trump made that Pearl Harbor joke, it wasn’t just humor to us. It felt like a weight I’d carried my whole life was suddenly lifted. My chest tightened, and honestly, tears came close. For 80 long years, we Japanese have lived under a heavy shadow — the constant expectation to apologize, to reflect, to stay in “guilt mode.” Even though we’re the closest of allies, that old wound never fully healed. We felt bound by the past, by the Constitution America helped write for us, always a little smaller, always needing to prove we were sorry enough. But in that single joke, Trump did something powerful. He turned a painful history into a shared laugh between equals. It was like he was saying: “Hey, it was a long time ago. We’re good. Let’s move forward — as brothers.” No more endless atonement. No more living in the shadow of being the “former enemy.” The curse broke. Japan feels free to stand tall again. Right now, cherry blossoms are blooming beautifully all across Japan. 🌸 This spring, the sakura feels like a perfect symbol — a fresh beginning. Not two nations stuck in old roles, but true equals, proud brothers, shoulder to shoulder, ready to build the future together. To the American people: We don’t want to be subordinates forever. We want to be your real partners — strong, proud, and loyal. The kind of allies who ride or die together. Thank you, Mr. President. Thank you, America. The strongest alliance in the world is rising again — as equals, as brothers, forever. #PhoenixRising 🇯🇵🤝🇺🇸🌸

@sow413 Japan's gift of cherry blossom trees was in 1912 and in bloom in Washington DC. Our relationship is in full display today on how to move forward.

@LauraLoomer @realdefender45 @HarmeetKDhillon Actually Laura I only know of you from X, but I immediately saw this as a lie to divide. Funny how after a while one gets a gut feel for the wheat and the chaff("a worthless husk"). Keep up the great work you and Harmeet do for us!

@realdefender45 Doubt it. She’s more likely talking about all of the depraved foreign influence operations and crazy conspiracies spewed by holier than thou “influencers”. I get along just fine with @HarmeetKDhillon. You want to sow division between us, and that won’t happen.

🚨 BREAKING: Sec. Marco Rubio just called out Zelensky as a LIAR Q: Did the US tell Zelensky that security guarantees depend on withdrawing from Donbas? RUBIO: "That's a LIE, and I saw him say that, and it's unfortunate he would say that because he KNOWS that's not true! That's NOT what he was told." "I don't know WHY he says these things, it's just not TRUE." "He was told the obvious: security guarantees are not gonna kick in until there's an end to the war." Wow, Marco just exposed him on the world stage! 🔥

Texas is one step closer to leading the country in banning mRNA! 21 hours of meetings this week came to head today. SD7 in Harris County just made my most important resolution a legislative priority!

SCOOP: Acting Deputy Treasury Secretary Derek Theurer has been removed from his position at the @USTreasury. Source tells me he was not moving on directives from POTUS and @SecScottBessent to crack down on 501c3 nonprofits that are in violation of IRS rules, and he was allegedly not complying with what he was asked to do by Secretary Bessent. If Bessent removed him, kudos to Bessent for taking the issue of 501c3 rule violations seriously. We are running out of time to take action against these 501c3s. Technically speaking, we are already out of time thanks to idiots who work at the IRS who deliberately blocked President Trump’s orders. I warned about this! Too many idiots work at Treasury sadly. They have a whole book of people they could fire with receipts on their illicit activities, and they haven’t done it! Good riddance.

Had to go to the urgent care dentist office this morning. Long story short, I had two teeth pulled out of my head. I’m currently sitting in the Walgreens parking lot, with gauze stuffed in my mouth waiting for them to fill my pain prescriptions. I’m going to be out of commission for a little while from any activities outside my house, as well as talking. The latter will likely please most of you on Spaces, as will me looking even more like a redneck until my mouth heals and I can get a couple of implants.

I know man! This one especially is a bummer, since I think it may even stop me from being able to go to Starbase for the launch in early April. And I was going to meet up with Jonation and Captain Eli tomorrow, but there's just no way I can do much at this point with gauze in my mouth that turns crimson red within about 1/2 hour. I really want to meetup with you one day soon! We are going to make it happen! I am just afraid for you to come to Houston again, what else is going to happen to me? 😂

@TeslaAndDoge Israel doesn't chant "Death to Iran". Iran has used the "Death to Israel" chant consistently, and has ahown intent by attacked Israel - through proxies - in numerous attempts to eradicate the country over 50 years. Sounds as if you are, indeed, a five year old.
