Not really. GOALS was always gameplay first, not “realism” first.
Ironically, focusing on responsiveness and skill over scripted realism is why many people think it feels more like real football anyway.

Wasn’t GOALS designed to Rival FIFA / FC, and be a ‘realistic’ approach to gaming. Where in football do you get a freekick for passing it back to the goalkeeper? It looks like a mobile game, which people are blindly praising 😂

@TheSirRobotto It starts after a certain amount of time wasting, and then grows towards the middle, pushing the player to attack instead of possession hoarding in his own half. It might feel gimmicky but it works really well.

@TheSirRobotto It isn't passing back to the GK that gives the free kick. It is passing back to anyone in the "time wasting" zone (marked in red). You can pass back to the keeper how much you want before that.

@andreas Hi Andreas, thanks for the reply, but how can passing the ball back to the goalkeeper twice, and being punished for it, feel more like ‘real football’?
GKs are involved more nowadays than ever before in football, and probably have more touches than most wingers
