To pray for someone more diligently: via Father Seraphim Holland From the Old Believer Prayer Book, with **lines in italics added Save, O Lord, and have mercy on Thy servant(s) ________, [bow] Deliver him (her, them) from every tribulation, wrath and need [bow], From every sickness of soul and body, [bow] Forgive him (her, them) every transgression, voluntary and involuntary, [bow] *Teach them to pray and to live with purpose. [bow] *Erase the harm my sins may have caused him (her, them) And do whatever is profitable for our souls. [bow]. Note: We can cause harm to people whether we intend to or not by causing them temptations which they succumb to and therefore sin, or giving them grief or making them unstable psychologically, and countless other things. Certainly, if we intentionally harm someone, we are responsible for their behavior that comes about because of, or related to the harm, AND we are even responsible when we unintentionally harm someone, whether or not we are aware that we have harmed them, and whether or not this harm causes them to sin. The Christian knows that it does not matter if someone has harmed us, we are always responsible for the harm that we give to them, even if we are responding to something they have done to us. They are responsible for their behaviors, and we are also responsible for their behaviors that have been caused by our negligence, anger, or cruelty, gossip, and a thousand other ways in which we show that we do not love our neighbor as ourselves. It is a Christian duty, borne out of love, to pray for many people. We should certainly pray for those who are very close to us and we love very much, and we should also pray for those that we have had difficulties with. Sometimes life is ambiguous and we feel at fault also for difficulties in relationships. Whether we are at fault or not, a Christian recognizes that it is possible to harm someone without even knowing it. Therefore, I have added the penultimate petition to this prayer. The one before it is also when I added because I personally feel that the most important thing that a person can have and that we should pray for is that they have purpose and know how to pray. If we know how to pray everything can be achieved. We can always pray for a person simply by merely saying “Lord have mercy upon N.” however sometimes we need to do something a little extra, and this prayer is very good for this.

@Nicholai_Korea First of all, isn’t Ort a reformed guy? Second, Protestants believe the same exact thing. Ask them about tender hearted atheists that act much more godly than some Christians.

Once again the church has never said that anyone and everyone outside of the church are damned. Certainly arent doing yourself any favors.

From what I’ve seen, I think @gavinortlund is right that the historical EO position is you have to be a member of their church in order to be eternally with the Father after death. I know the whole “talk to a priest” rebuttal is out there, but a modern change of tune when put up with historical statements shows a disconnect, imo. youtu.be/q7gaC-aL-Vw?si…

Evangelicals despise the Virgin Mary. This visceral hatred and contempt for the Blessed Mother of the Lord does not come from God but from satan. Have nothing to do with these demons.

@GeorgiaMaeCole1 The good thing is hopefully England goes the way of Russia. In the sense that evil communist spirit died after almost 100 years and gave a rebirth to Russia and Orthodoxy.

“Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” ☦️James 2:18 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” ☦️James 2:26 “Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.” ☦️2 Thessalonians 2:15 "Time does not weaken the unwritten traditions. Nor does length of years diminish their authority. For they were not things written down casually or left to human invention. Rather, they are the practices the Apostles themselves delivered to the Church. Practices confirmed by long-standing usage and the shared consensus of those who came before us. To oppose such traditions, under the pretense of honoring Scripture alone; is to undermine the very faith handed down to us!” “Of the doctrines preserved in the Church, some come to us in writing, and others come from the Tradition of the apostles, mystically preserved. Both of these have the same authority.” ☦️Saint Basil the Great

In everything of the world today, we see abnormality, mental dissipation & vain distraction. Guard yourself, seek peace, run to Christ & let your soul rest in His love. The time is coming when they will demand that you enter the madness, or forfeit your life. Be ready.
